second dine o same story.. good performance by bowlers.. that too as a batsman... i am just wondering how could we NOT have a league..
dekha jachche 200 chase kortei lalu-lulu hoye jacche.. i hope the pitch is not underprepared..like it was in the national league.
this sharif guy hit a six to make sure that zimbabwe bats (ctg test against zim)... his batting can be a bonus, if he can make the cut as a bowler..

poor performance by most players especially national team players and clubs too in terms of scoring runs. low scores in most of the matches.
why dont we have 3 day match national championship. not just dhaka league.

well well well, i think i didn't hear anything from some Abahani supporters out here!! well ppl, where are you hiding now? Anywayz guys, i don't mean to sound like a b***h but good job by my team! I haven't seen Md. Sharif for 2 years, but i know that the team management must know something in him to have faith in this young bloke even thru his injury. I hope Biman wins this league- becoz last year they didn't perform as well. Biman is one team who doesn't really rely on foreign players unlike many of the big shot, rich clubs!
About green pitches, a score of 225 is good in one-dayers, 250+ would be best, anything over that shows lack of assistance to the bowlers, also the best of players and the best strategy to curb the movement will help bringing in the right type of cricketers out! We've had enough of those players who score 50's and 100's in flat tracks!

Sharif scored 28 runs in 9 balls and took two wickets today. He is infact doing better than Talha.

Finally some cecent scores
at last we see some 250s and staff in the league. good sign. another important thing is, finally national players are getting into runs. pilot got a 72, ash 43, alok 20 in 11 balls and staff.
akram khan is the only oldie who is doing better than the current bunch. he had good score in two matches, monst importantly when the team was in trouble.
the spot light, however, goes on mohammad sharif. he brought two consiquitive wins for biman in two matches. took 2 crucial wicket and scored 68, and again took two imporant wicket and scored 28 off 9 balls (6x4). read, 4 sixes, not six fours. if he goes like that we might soon see him back to national team.

Don't forget about Shafaq. Big Shaq got 4/24. Nine wickets in two matches! Great performance! Far better then his new ball partner Talha Jubair!
Khaled Mashud comes to the crease before Kapali and that says enough about Mr. Kapali's confidence level!
One thing for sure..........our National team's performance is no surprise............Mashud is our best Batsman in the limited over version! And our tail enders are comparatively much more dependable than the top order! But it also reveals that our bowlers are in general ineffective once the shine of the ball is gone........Sharif is probably an exception.

Just a thought if some of you missed it : Anyone see chachas figures today? 2 for 54 or something. got pelted.. and scored 7 odd runs. Wonder where his supporters are today??
babu is having a better tournament so far.
The success of the pacers are impressive. So, the green pitch is working for them. It will only help the batsmen. Good decision by BCB to play on lively pitches. All of a sudden, our prospects in the pace dept look brighter as we have a dearth of youngsters to choose from.
Sharif is on fire with the bat. Pilot once again came to rescue. How about hannan? got out the same way once again. no shot offered to a lefty pacer, only to see it thud back onto his pads. Pretty dissapointed with the national bats so far. Ash in his 40, got 3 lives !! Waiting for Nafis and Aftab to come through with the bat.

Name one player who was outstanding in both matches but never played in internationl scene (A-team/BCB Xi/national team)?
Shafaq Al Jabir.
5/28 and 4/24
Translation for selectors- he is unplayable (economy rate), he is hostile (no. wickets taken)
If he keeps playing with this venom, he should surely be picked, I hope.
It's interesting to find out that our national team batsmen don't score runs anyway! No wonder!

We are seeing big totals but top orders are still not clicking. Lower middle-order and the bowlers are still the main contributors with bats. I do not agree with the fact that batsmen are not scoring because of the green wicket. If that was true then how come Akram is scoring consistantly despite having proven weakness against pace bowling. None of the openers, nor the number three batsmen have scored runs yet.It is very disturbing.

Is he becoming another "Talented Rokon" or what?
After that three lives, got out for "Run out" in very next over!!!
And for 2nd time in 2 consecutive match?!
Sounds even worst than Rokon.
Another hopeless foolish youngstar for the time?

Bashar also failed
Mohammedan 285 for 9 (Nafis Iqbal 9, Habibul Bashar 4, Tikolo 96 , Wassel 66, Nannu 14)
Indira Road KC 122 ( Mashrafee 2/19, Mohammad Rafique 4/26 )
Comment: Steve Tikolo is 10 times better than any of our current top 10 batsmen. Our top order batsmen,s limit is 30/40, and that also happens sporadically!!!

what worries me is BD are not getting any consistency from their top order, especially their opening batsmen! I'm not worried about bowling- in fact in the last few years- the bowling department looks very impressive- its the fragile batting i'm worried about.
Tikolo is very much a natural batsman- we need at least 2 Tikolos in our national squad- so far, he's yet to start playing cricket in BD- whoever it is!

If we offer Tikolo citizenship, then we need to find just one more Tikolo. Do he have any brother?
