Default India\'s real worries!!!!

Steve Bucknor will be officiating in the test matches.

I can understand the morale of the Indian team. I hope Bucknor is denied the visa to enter the country.

The old man can't hear, can't see and has a history of giving horrendous decisions against India.

Bocknor-E GonoDhulai Dorkar.

The real worry for India is to prove that they are as good a host as Pakistan was in the last tour. And there was a atricle about that in cricinfo.

Even bigger and real worry is to solve the telecast imbroglio. Unless some telecaster is decided, the series cannot go ahead as it is mandatory for test matches to be telecast.

Tendular was clearly out in the single digits but Rudi said it was not out. You Indians need to stop whining.

India's real worry is actually the current form of Captain Ganguly.

Bucknor is the saving grace for India. Now, if India does lose they'll blame it on Bucknor. Ameer's right, quit whining.

India's real worry is their record of not performing well under pressure. In this series they are favorite hence THEY are the ones under pressure. Pakistanis in this series have nothing to lose and can play their natural game. This should make for an interesting contest.

Umpires do commit mistakes and there will always be good decision, poor decision, bad decision.

But Bucknor and his India-connection is legendary in terms of horrendous decisons galore that have cost India test matches.

This is not about Whining - i had spoken my apprehensions long before the test started. The original post is from feb-22.

Bucknor's folly was in denying the appeal of bad light when everyone could see that batsman were struggling to spot the ball due to poor visibility. He then gave an out merely on whims. The ball was way too far off bat and there was hardly any support to the caught-behind appeal and not even bowler was convincing in his "let me make a shout" kind of appeal.

If Bucknor's eyes and ears are failing him i see no reason why any team should be penalised for that.

Bucknor has cost India many a games. He refused to refer a run-out decision to the third umpire when Jhonty Rhodes was run out by miles. SA were precariously placed and he was the last known batsman. Jonty played a match-saving innings from there on.

His controversial decisions against Sachin are well-documented.

Btw, Bucknor has really a big fan following world-wide.

Read this out from an SA fan.

Thanks Bucknor, You Fat Bicch

India's real worries is its lack of ability to close out matches, even against poor teams!!!
So blaming Bucknor for ruining the game would be wrong. I understand the Indian fans' woes about the dismissal of Sachin, but we get decisions like this at least 5 times during every Test match but no one really pinpoints those 5 decisions in the following day's newspapers, they are not shown as the headlines- they are merely on the tidbits section. Test cricket is not perfect but it has a lot of human aspect to it which makes it so unpredictable, so amazing!
There can be many other ways of getting things right, maybe Pakistan can have a lbw decision turned against them on the Day5- but that doesn't mean that decision will be the newspaper headlinesin Karachi the next day!!!
There's a lot of "what if"s in cricket. I say, we just move along and see how things goes!

Also wanted to add that- even thinking that Steve Bucknor has something personal against the Indian team or Sachin is very immature!

Chyicarus,

The fact is, we Indians DON'T want Bucknor to officiate in any test match involving team India. Even Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar is 10 times more preferable, or for that matter, even Ashoka DeSilva who is consistent in his poor decisions.

But NO Bucknor please. Sorry.

The dislike for him is terminal. I had suspected what ever happened LONG BEFORE it even happened. It's not as if i suspected it - it's as if i KNEW this is gonna happen.

In my personal opinion (and yes, i haven't seen all his hundred matches but i have followed his 20+ recent ones), he is pathetic and biased too. His antagonism against Indian team is well documented. He brings an insecurity into many prominent Indian batsman - they are not sure when he will give them out in his own hellish manner, the slow torture.

Btw, i have exchanged conversation with English, South Africans and Pakistani fans and they all agree on one thing atleast - his umpiring is really pathetic. To me, he has been a disgrace since the day he refused to call on the third umpire claiming "I had no doubts in my mind that the batsman was home" when the batsman was nowhere within 100 miles radius of the crease when the the bails were disturbed.

It's one thing to have a poor judgement and another to have arrogance even in that poor judgement. He surely owed an apology to the team that suffered instead of the wise-as_s remark above.

Indian teams problems are many and another thing for another day. But they have way too many problems of their own to also have to deal with the Bucknor nightmare.
