Well, the match didn't totally destroy us, but again, we could not even compete with Sri Lanka today - and that was to be expected?

309 is virtually impossible for BD, unlucky.

I couldn't watch the match but I have two questions on Mashrafee Mortaza:

1-Though taking two early wickets he had a very high economy rate (7.1!), what's the reason for it?

2-As it happened in the 3rd ODI against India in december 2004 he had some brilliant slog in the last overs: the guy has some shots... so could he become a decent batsman?

btw I think this ODI series has been very positive for Bangladesh: let's remember few days ago Sri Lanka could beat South Africa in the VB series and only lost 2-1 to Australia in the final!
In the last 15 months Bangladesh has won ODI vs India, Zimbabwe, Australia and Sri Lanka, finally proving the team deserves respect!

Mashrafee gave away only 9 runs in his first 6 overs, but went for 62 in the last four overs!!

3 4's behind the keeper lucky nick for the batsmen. 3 sixes pure slog on wide and short balls. That had something to do. I would blame Bashar for bringing Taposh too early. Mash could have bowled 2 more overs just like Rasel when he was on fire. 6 over 9 runs. 2 more overs even it costed 9 runs that is a swing of 30+ runs.

You always keep feeding a hot hand.

You always let the set batsman play the balls.

You always let the bowler who is terrorizing the opponent to bowl too the fullest to get the best result.

We lost! Damn! But what can u expect? 309 is a impossible target for BD.

Leeting Tapash and Rana in today was a mistake. We should have stuck to the other day's team.

Tapsh isn't a quality bowler! He just has pace but he can't control his pace. He's a bit like what happened to Shanto during his last years.

And these two were very expensive!

MATCH ANALYSIS

BOWLING

Mash was unlucky.... poor kiddo. And the Lankans hit a mght six off one of his balls! DAMN! May be Mash got tired and needed to be replaced or something.
Alok mia and Aftab didn't get wickets today... again bad!
And Rafique always does well in bowling... eita ar notun ki? But Rafique got made two bowled's and a c&b! WOW!
Rasel also did well.
Tapasha and Rana shouldnt have been picked.

FIELDING
Nothing special today.

BATTING
Aftab was a ? damn! our match winner went!
Ashraful looks to have found his form again. Another 50! YAY!
And Bashar has become consistent in making scores in 30's. Mama , 50 koren ekhon thaika!
Boy, was Mash explosive today? 2 sixes? And 19 in only 7 balls?
He's become like Shoaib or Pathan. I think we should move him up next to Rafique or Pilot.

If the openers had made more runs and Aftab could have played well, we could have won today.

Ciao.

যাইহোক, আমাদের ক্রিকেটারদের ব্যর্থতাটাতো নিজের ঘাড়ে নিতে পারলাম। এটা কম সম্মানের ব্যাপার না!
