Default Let us take a moment to applaud BCB's initiative to spread the game throughout BD

Let me tell you about the number of international or BPL matches hosted in the following cities in the last 3 years

Sylhet-0
Rajshahi-0
Bogra-0
Cox's Bazar -0

So basically we have plenty of venues for international cricket or BPL but we not used them at all.

Why not spread the game. Why not give opportunity to folks in the other city watch some cricket

Absolutely right, MHRAM.

And 'IF' BCB was hosting BPL matches in those otherwise dead (in year around cricket activity) international venues, not only the local people would have an opportunity to watch some better interesting cricket, but also:

a. More local young talents will grow, by watching games in their hometown (grounds), by being exposed to better cricket (by watching better BD and foreign players' games).

b. Local economy will improve, by local hotels, Inns and eateries getting more business. As well as other businesses, bookstore, gift shops, museums, historical sites getting more visits by the game watchers who are coming to the those towns mainly for the matches.

BUT, it is too much to ask of BCB to generate that kind of thought process and take that kind of basic initiatives. Because to many, it is too much 'WORK'.

Yep time to spread it.

I would love to see more in Cox's Bazar... first saw it on the youth world cup last year.

100% correct Zaved bhaiya...

You can be amazed at the impact that international games bring to the community...

The culture of that community changes to welcome that.

BCB is spending it's money on funding tours of BCB officials who have absolutely nothing to do abroad.

Do you know that even senior officials from Australia SA WI India don't tour other countries but all Bangladeshi officials are at the stadium even in Champions trophy.

Like u said it's a great thing not only for cricket but so much.

BCB should stop giving BS reasons for not hosting elsewhere. You can host matches there and you can do it with good profit. Don't give the average people lame excuses

It makes my Blood boil to see Mohammad isam talk about how BCB is developing talent and how we have improved.

Improved?

We are no7 in ODIs
9 in Tests
10 in ODIs.

We are minnows of the game but BCB thinks we have talent to replace Shakib Mashrafe Tamim.

We don't have anyone half as good as Tamim as an opener. No pacer has Mash's accuracy and ability to swing and Shakib. Shakib is the best spin bowling allrounder of the modern era, finding his replacement is not easy

Does BPL matches need those types of accommodations? Maybe for the foreign players but I can't imagine that there aren't hotels that cant accomodate a couple of foreigners.

That is the main problem besides logistics.

Cox Bazar is where the game needs to happen. It will help promote tourism as well
