From BD Point of view it could be a dead rubber, but from WI point of view its a 'Do or Die' game to make a point, which suggests another great competitive game. BD as well as Sakib's [captain] job is not done yet, and its a first ever competitive series asking to be finished clean & white, could be tough to keep everyone motivated and focused while batting, bowling, fielding and most importantly WINNING determination, and such lot more, to learn IN the field, IN the game. Sakib can take rest in Zimbo game or even in 20/20 against WI, I don't mind, but he should finish THE JOB [series], unless he thinks he need rest.
As for Zunaid, Rakib, Mahmudullah ... has not done good enough in this ODI series and since they are the first choice of our best eleven, I don't see why they should be dropped for the sake of 'One shot' experience to the second choice [such as Mehrab]? If Zunaid, Rakib, Mhmudullah can pull off their game in a competitive, tensed match ... isn't THAT experience we should look for? Since they already played few matches against this team, possibility wise they have more chance to do well and they should be given that chance IMO. What experience one [second choice] might get given just One shot' to look?
So my take on this situation is ... Three 'experience' should be better than just one.
|
Couldn't have said it better myself, but won't mind seeing Mehrab in place of Raquibul. Maybe Mehrab will be more disciplined playing in the V and can rotate the strike better. Fielding wise, he is as good as Raquib and can bowl a few overs also.
Personally, I don't rate Robin at all but maybe he can have a go in Rubel's place. In a spindependent strategy, I don't see him doing any worse at this stage because he's unlikely to get too many overs. It would be interesting to see how quickly he settles into an effective line and length with the overs her has.
Rasel had a bad game, but we must not forget his character and habit of coming back strong. I expect him to learn from his match 2 experience and apply himself. In fact, I am looking forward to his adjustments.
Nazmul is a total waste of space and time.

He was bowling when there was no pressure on the bowlers. There was a definite reason why nayeem was not called up in the later overs. And the reason is, there are three better spinners in the team. And I am not saying he did rubbish, he did alright, but I think we should give mehrab a chance, and mehrab will fit into Nayeem's place.

Sorry for posting off topic, but couldnt help my self

In this article, our prime minister Sk. Hasina claimed that because of her party and Govt, BD got test status. She seems to put political color wherever she finds it, everything now a days is Her and BAL properties.

may be you are right.
but i think nayeem is most under rated player in the current squad.
he bats at number 8 while in his whole career he was opener or one down
in domestic he is very very part timer but in international he is not only regular, he is doing well beyond all the exceptions. just rewind the tour of SL or NZ.
I think, after sakib he has most potential to become 2nd best allrounder.

Bismillah.
It would be nice to have Robin and Nazmul bowl. Just to test out and give them a game. Our quality will not go down cause they should be hungry. In case Shakib is rested then obviously Mehrab should replace him.

i am not looking for only whitewash. if we can win this match, we have a big opportunity to win running 8 odi match[ wi-3, zim-5 =8]..which it will be a big blow for our cricket. and it will be a big boost for our players. so, i am hoping bangladesh can win all the matches and showing to the rest of the world. good luck bangladesh.

u r right. rasel and rubel didnt do that well, so there will be no difference if u replace them plus it can't be any worst
anyway, we have to depend on spinner.
agree: if sakib dont play, mehrab jr should replace.
i think sakib deserve a rest and enjoy the game wearing his cricket sun glass from the dressing room with a pina colada
