Default I didn't expect a good game after reading this yesterday..

“We have been playing good cricket throughout the tournament though many have raised question about our batting. At least three times we scored more than our opponents and that's why we won these matches,” said Shakib when asked about his side's poor batting display in the tournament.

166, 205, 227. hardly record breaking is it.

forget the 58, 78 and 370 conceded! truth is, this WC has been a major flop and Im not too disheartned becuase last WC us and Ireland got through, Pak and Ind went out. This time the best 8 teams went through.

Now he is saying pressure got him. I think it was the opposite - their complacency got them.

Skaib scored 30 and got 2 wickets where as the rest of our "batsmen" scored 5,6,0,4 etc. We can't expect him to do everything all the time -___-.
I am just shocked at how everyone all of a sudden is against Shakib. If the team performes poorly, how is it his fault? yes, if he is the only one not performing, then sure blame him but it's the whole team.

And it is true, pressure did get to our players. Before the WC we only need to win 3 games to qualify and we did that. However because we were in such a tough group, we needed four wins. At least this time we didn't lose to Ireland or Holland and beat one giant team.

If only the players and the fans right from the start had said that they only want to see good cricket from Bangladesh and that's it, then possibly we wouldn't have embarrassed our selves like this. It's not going to be shafiul's heroics against England or Tamim's patient 70 against India that's going to be remembered. Sadly, it's going to be the 78 and the 58 that people will be talking about

Yeah he should've said - "Our batting sucks, so we'll just forfeit and go back home"

People, move on now. Have a break from cricket for the time being. Come back in 2 weeks.

last WC, we and the Irish were the better performers than the Indians or the Pakis. so we deserved it.

this time we didnt deserve it. our performance was quite bad.

It is good to let Shakib off captaincy, it will relieve some pressure. He will be offered captaincy again in a few years when he will be more than ready, Bangladesh will voyage into a new horizon then
