Better question should be based on what he was selected? And that too over Nazmul? I can't wait to hear Akram Uncle and Hablu chachu start talking about selection.

our overall bowling has been so mediocre lately but there is no denying how far Shafiul & Abul is from the international standard. I am more saddened thinking they are currently the 2nd & 3rd best pace options for BD.....sigh...

First time I saw him in BPl I thought he wasn't even ready for such dom.lgs
I have jiruu expectation on him ( but that's just my perso opinion)
He can't even take such easy catches.
The way he celebrated his two wickets gave the PakPassion people a good laugh. dude u just dropped the guy at the start & got him out when he already ruined it.

I'm confident about that now.

He was behaving in the field, as if he has suddenly landed on the moon to play a cricket match. He was acting completely out of the place..

He had pace and ridiculous U-19 stats (better than a certain Mohammad Amir of Pakistan), so its fair to have given him a shot. But clearly he's a nothing bowler at least in T20.

Tbh if he wasnt such a wayward bowler and stuck to accuracy, with his type of pace he would be a good bowler. He has a sort of smooth action that can trouble batsmen. But obviously if a player is Bangladeshi then it means he is wasted talent.

In reality he is shocking and utter crap. Looks like they dont learn anything in training. Looks like there is no development in Bangladesh in terms of cricket.

Abul seems quite strong. He has a good action. I reckon he can bowl 5-7 kmph faster if he tweaks his action. But he is not ready for such level of cricket. He needs to play a lot more domestic cricket, A team cricket before he breaks into the senior level.

totally agree with you. He needs a season of bowling in domestic cricket and A tours (if any). He is good agressive prospect and should be groomed for the future.

Yes, he has some pace in his bowling and can definitely add 5-6 k's of pace, he is only 20. and I got the impression that he can bowl a bit quicker but was holding himself back may be due to his lack of control. As he will play more , he will learn how to control his pace, he should be encouraged to bowl quick rather than concentrating on line and length.

In terms of potential Abul is much better than Shafiul.

Not sure why he was brought in at such an early stage especially in world cup where there will be world class batsmen...why not groom a bowler in XI and A team first...on the other hand even they groom look at what happened to Mash, Shafiul and Shahadat...just plain crap...short ball after short ball with no brain and control...this is ridiculous

There was a period where Rasel, Shafiul, Rubel, Nazmul all were injured. He was fastracked because we had no one else. But imo its better to play a crap bowler than spoil a talent. He's gotten hammered in most matches he played, even against associates. These things really put a dent on one's confidence. No bowler or batsmen should be fast tracked into the team until and unless they have played enough of FC and a few series with A Team.

He got pace and bounce and could be a good test bowler. He slow delivery will be effective on ODI.
He is still young , we should not throw him away as we dont have that much pace bowler in our pipe line.

instead of using bowling machines we should use Abul as a "net" bowler so that our tigers can learn how to capitalize on loose deliveries at good pace.
