recently, I send a letter to prothom alo on their reporting in Africa. Unfortunately they did not respond to me anyway. Still Mr Tareq Mahmood is continuing his bull **** reporting. Prothom alo always ask others accountibilty. How about there accountibilty. If i am not wrong, some years ago, one of their reporter were caught red handed for criminal activity. Now Mr Tareq Mahmood is engaged in criminal activity (off course on my eye) to destroy the harmony of the team and promote an individual with chequered reputation. For my fellow members here is my letter to Prothom alo

জনাব,
আমার এই চিঠি আপনার ক্রিকেট রিপোর্টারের রিপোটিং নিয়ে। প্রথম আলো সংবাদের বস্তুনিষ্টতা নিয়ে গর্ব করে এবং এই বস্তুনিষ্টতা প্রথম আলোকে করেছে বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় দৈনিক। কিন্তু আপনার ক্রিকেট রিপোর্টারের রিপোটিং এ বস্তুনিষ্টতার সবচেয়ে অভাব। জনাব মাহমুদের রিপোটিং পড়লে মনে হয় Sun বা News of the World পড়ছি, প্রথম আলো নয়।
দল ঘোষনার পর মুশফিককে দলে নেয়া নিয়ে উনি খালেদ মাসুদের সাক্ষাৎকার এবং এই বিষয়ে খালেদ মাসুদের ব্যক্তিগত অভিমত প্রকাশ করে একটি অপ্রয়োজনীয় বিতর্ক তৈরী করেন। সফরে দ্বিতীয় উইকেট কিপার নেয়া এটা নতুন কিছু নয়। দলের উপর এই সাক্ষাৎকারের প্রভাব কি চিন্তা করেছেন? না কি এই সাক্ষাৎকার খালেদ মাসুদের হয়ে pre-emptive strike । খালেদ মাসুদের বর্তমান ফর্মের কারণে ২০০৭ এর বিশ্বকাপের জন্য আর উনি অটোমেটিক চয়েজ নন। নির্বাচকদের বর্তমানের সাথে ভবিষ্যতের কথা ও মনে রাখতে হয়, আপনি যে চিন্তা করে উৎপল শুভ্র থাকার পর ও জনাব মাহমুদকে আফ্রিকা সফরে পাঠিয়েছেন।
জনাব মাহমুদের রিপোটিং অনুসারে বাংলাদেশ দলের সমস্যা নির্বাচক, হোয়াটমোর, বিসিবি কিন্তু খেলোয়াড় না এবং খালেদ মাসুদ বাংলাদেশ দলের মেসিয়া। কি ভাবে আমি এই উপসংহারে টানলাম।
১. বিসিবি প্রতিনিধিদের আফ্রিকা সফর - আমাদের রিপোর্টার সাহেব আমাদের জানালেন ওনারা সাংবাদিকদের থেকে জানালেন বাশার দেশে ফেরত যাচ্চে। যদিও ভদ্রলোকরা সেদিন জিম্বাবুয়ে পোছেন এবং বিমানে থাকার অর্থ অধিকাংশ লোকের জন্য খবরের উৎস থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন । রিপোর্টার সাহেব প্রশ্ন করেননি কেন ওনারা জানেন না বা প্রশ্ন করলে ও এর উত্তর পাঠকদের জানান নি। রিপোর্টার সাহেব আরো প্রশ্ন করেননি কেন ওনারে জিম্বাবুয়ে গিয়েছেন?
২. হোয়াটমোর - জনাব মাহমুদের রিপোটিং পড়লে মনে হয় ওনার ডেভ হোয়াটমোরের সাথে ওনার ব্যক্তিগত শত্রুতা আছে। জনাব মাহমুদ কি আজকাল বাংলাদেশ দলের টিম মিটিং এ অংশ নিচ্চেন? ওনার ৬ই আগষ্ট এর প্রতিবেদন পড়ে তাইতো মনে হয়। পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে intrusive ইংরেজ সাংবাদিকরাও দলের সাথে এক হোটেলে না থাকার জন্য অভিযোগ করে না; কিন্তু জনাব মাহমুদ তাই করছেন এবং বিমানে বসা নিয়ে প্রতিবেদন, ওতো sun এর exclusive territory। অলক কাপালীর ব্যাপার টা খুব বড় সংবাদ; কিন্তু দূঃখজনক হল অন্য কোন পত্রিকায় এই বিষয়ে কোন প্রতিবেদন নাই।
৩. খালেদ মাসুদ - খালেদ মাসুদ কি জনাব মাহমুদ কে উকিল হিসাবে নিযুক্ত করেছেন? কারণ মনে হচ্ছে দলের জন্য যা করার সব খালেদ মাসুদ করছেন। আমার মতো অনেক সমর্থকের জানার আগ্রহ কেন খালেদ মাসুদ শাহাদত কে continue করেন নি? কেন মাশরাফি খালেদ মাসুদ কে জানায় নি তার মনে হচ্ছে সে পারবে না? যে কোন সাংবাদিক এই প্রশ্ন করবেন। উনি এই প্রশ্ন করেন নি কারণ এটা খালেদ মাসুদের জন্য loss – loss situation । কেনিয়ার সাফারীর গল্প শুনে মনে হয়েছে মাসুদের একক সিদ্ধান্তে হয়েছে । আসলে কি তাই? দলে সহ-অধিনায়ক থাকতে হবে এমন কোন রীতি আছে? ইংল্যান্ডের ভারত সফরে কোন সহ-অধিনায়ক ছিল না । কিন্তু জনাব মাহমুদ বাশারের অনুপস্হিতে খালেদ মাসুদের অধিনায়কত্বের জন্য প্রোপাগান্তা করে যাচ্ছেন । কেনিয়ার সাথে সিরিজ জিতলে হয়তো উনি খালেদ মাসুদকে অধিনায়ক করার জন্য বলবেন । ২০০৩ এর বিশ্বকাপ পরর্বতী তদন্ত কমিশন খালেদ মাসুদের অধিনায়কত্বের বিরুদ্ধে সুপারিশ করেছিল। প্রথম আলো প্রায় তদন্ত কমিশনের রিপোর্ট বাস্তবায়নের কথা বলে, কিন্তু কাজে তার প্রমাণ পাই নি।
প্রথম আলো দাবী করে আমরা বাংলাদেশের পক্ষে। জনাব তারেক মাহমুদের রিপোর্টিং পড়ে মনে হয় উনি বাংলাদেশ দলে গ্রুপিং এর পক্ষে। জনাব তারেক মাহমুদের রিপোটিং সম্বন্ধে সাধারণ পাঠক ও বাংলাদেশের ফ্যানদের মতামত জানতে আপনি দেখতে পারেন http://www.banglacricket.com/alochon...php?t=17138‌ , http://www.banglacricket.com/alochon...ad.php?t=17029 এবং http://www.banglacricket.com/alochon...php?t=17116‌ ।

আমি এই চিঠি পাঠানোর পর তারেক মাহমুদের আরো দুইটি রিপোর্ট প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। প্রথমটি তে উনি আমাদের জানালেন আমাদের ম্যানেজার দেশে কাকে ফোন করছেন আর দ্বিতীয়টিতে as expected উনি খালেদ মাসুদের অধিনায়কত্বের জন্য উচ্চ প্রশংসা করছেন। আমি প্রথম বিষয়ে কোন মন্তব্য করবো না কারণ উনি tabloid সাংবাদিকদের আদর্শ মেনেছেন। কিন্তু দ্বিতীয়টির বিষয়ে আমার কিছু প্রশ্ন আছে
১. ফরহাদ কি ওপেনিং বোলার? প্রথম দিন আমরা সাধারন ক্রিকেট অনুরাগীরা যদি বুঝি তাহলে খালেদ মাসুদ বুঝছেন না কেন? আমার দুইটি conclusion. এক খালেদ মাসুদের ক্রিকেট জ্ঞান ০ অথবা খালেদ মাসুদ ফরহাদ রেজার career ধ্বংশে আগ্রহী। দুইটি conclusion এর কোনটি অধিনায়কত্বের জন্য উপযোগী নয়।
২. মাশরাফীকে শেষের ওভারে বল দেয়া ভাল অধিনায়কত্ব নয়। মাশরাফী প্রমাণ করেছে সে এখনো শেষের ওভারে বল করার যোগ্য হয়নি। শ্রীলংকা, জিম্বাবুয়ে এমনকি কেনিয়াতে আমরা এর প্রমান পেয়েছি।
৩.কোন অধিনায়ক প্রকাশ্যে সহখেলোয়াড়ের সমালোচনা করেন না। খালেদ মাসুদের অধিনায়কত্বের নমুনা আমরা দেখলাম যখন উনি রফিকের সমালোচনা দ্বিতীয় ম্যাচ শেষে করলেন।
৪. যেহেতু তারেক মাহমুদ সাহেব tabloid সাংবাদিকদের আদর্শ মেনেছেন, উনি কি আমাদের খালেদ মাসুদের অষ্ট্রেলিয়ার বাংলাদেশের সফরকালীন নারী কেলেংকারীর কাহিনী জানাবেন। বিষয়টি ঢাকার একাধিক পত্রিকায় এসেছিল।

Khaled Mashud , Farhaed Reza are from Rajshahi hehe. If nepotism is playing any role here, I w'd say Tareq Mahmud may be from that region as well. For some reason, Mashud gets positive comments from this newspaper, I noticed that before. Mashud just lost the match after Bashar helped the team level the series 1-1. Anyway, these might be all as baseless as Tareq Mahmud's journalism. Hehehe.

Look at these two articles. The first one is in Prothom Alo and the second one is in cricinfo. The only differnce is the one in bangla the other one in English. Cricinfo is published on 22nd and prothom Alo today. In prothom alo item there is no mention of cricinfo though it was a copyrighted info. Is not it blunt plagarism? Prothom Alo wants everybody should be honest and accountable. What they are doing? Where is the honesty?

i still like prothom alo. Their reporting is the best. The reason why utpol shuvro was not appointed for the africa tour as he just returned from the fifa world cup in germany. they want to give chance to everybody. But it is true, he was singing too much for pilot. I personally don't think Pilot has that potential.
