Default Mashrafe Can't Bat Outside BD(Subcontientent)

About 95% of his Jaw Dropping Innings Came in BD, I know he had 1 good cameo vs Zimbabwae and hit some shots vs SL in the Champions Trophy but he didn't do that well in England and I'm not sure how he did previously @ Kenya and Zimbabwae.

At first I thought it's the Nature of the Beast that he plays big shots and sometimes he won't click. Unless Tendu is Bowling the 48th and 50th Over I don't think Mash is gonna be that big of an impact at the WC. Pitches @ WI are the closet thing to the suncontient outside the region so maybe he just may play an innings that may justify him as an All-rounder.

I remember the England tour and BC was like Mash our first true allrounder and then he stunk it up with the Bat. However his Bowling was Phenominal and Maybe the Burden of Carrying Tapash and the spineless Bowling took a towl on him.

Do you Think Mash will score a quick cameo innings at the WC? I'm sure he'll do fine vs Bermuda and Canada but he shouldn't even play in those matches because of the risk of Injury.

We need Mashrafe more as a bowler than a batsman. Although we need some good batters considering our fragile batting order but we can't expect everything from him.

I think Mash will bat decently in West Indies because the pitches are mostly flat tracks.

I noticed that too. I dont mind his batting, as long as he bowls well and other batsmen do their job. Anything from him would be plus. Best wishes to BD team.

Are u serious? Why am i even bothering to reply to this thread? Mate, Mash is a BOWLER, not a batsman. As long as he can can hold a bat and crack a few deliveries, that's more than enough IMO. He doesnt have to worry about his batting.....its fine as it is.

In that sense, Zaheer Khan, the Indian pacer is a great all-rounder.

I Do Not Expect a Good Batting from Mashrafee outside Sub-Continent. In General Outside Sub-Continent The Wickets are Not Batting Friendly. Mashrafee is not a Batter. What He does that Add some Extra Run in Slog Over. I dont Think it is a Topic to Discuss about Mashrafee's Batting. If He Cannot batting in a Bowling Friendly Wicket, We Should't Press Him about It. He Should Concentrate on His Bowling and His Batting is Bonus. That's It.

Most of the batsmen in BD face difficulties outside the subcontinent and their performances go lower whenever they play in faster wickets. Can't really blame Mash for the same problem.. because it is a prob on general for subcontinental batsmen.

Mash is a very good batsmnen as long as u dont bowl him anything above his waist. As soon as u give some bounce he will not make u happy. Thats y he is good against military medium and finds it hard to face raw pace where they can actually bounce him. Neways i am not too worried abt it... he is out bowler and not an all rounder neways'

Talk about that. Mash scored a 45* against Kenya IN KENYA in last ODI last year chasing 180+ score and our top order failed. That should answer it about recent perfomance. And against England he was picked as bowler not a bowling allrounder.

Youve got a point there mate.......Hes just got 1 score over thirty in 21 matches away.....Whereas he's got 4 in 26 matches at home....People who are saying that he's a bowler who shouldnt be expected to, thats not the point. Nobodys blaming him or calling for an exclusion, I think what the thread starter meant is that we cant expect those lifts in the runrate nearing the end like we can at home.....

he is not that good a batsman technically, basically a lower order hitter. he is definitely not an all rounder but there are players who started as bowler but then developed their batting.

i cant understand why people are saying "we shouldnt press him" as if he will break down if we press him! i think he should be pressed more for batting because he got the potential and practising with the bat more in nets wont break his back right?
