Please don't just post things as if they are facts. You are wrong. He's no more than 32 (varified).

some ppl look older than their actual age and there are other ppl who look younger...
ppl from all over the world, Bengalis & non-bengalis, read this form ... its not a good idea to post misleading information about players without any evidence....

on the same page with you... i used to go see him play in the Abahani Field around '96 with my chacha and he was around 26-27 then. Reason I know is his nephew used to go to school with us till O'levels.

BonBon did his PHD in 2002. Ever since then, he's got a lot of extra time in his hand

Sorry BonBon, that was just a bit too tempting

He made his debut as an 18 year old against India in Sharjah '95....I actually saw that match and he did look 18 then.....This seems like a useless thread to me.....I can clearly see 10 years down the line when Sakib is 30...some ppl opening a thread saying he is 36 or something...Get a life man!

In the schools, Golla vai was only 2 years senior to me. So, I think, his age is OK. One more thing, he is an excellent guy: humorous and very helpful to the younger players.

BonBon,
there r so many facts we can think about. infact, some vital facts. if u r after catching some attention, please bring some valid issues. Even if Golla was 38 wat is your problem??? we dont loose everything at 38. As long he is performing does his age really matter?

Clarification time.

In the Dhaka University I played against Golla. He was a student of "History Department" and I was in Pharmacy.

He was 2 years senior to us.

I am 31 (some of our batcmates are 30), Golla will be in the range of 32-33.

Thanks to all of you for the comments. Be advised that it was not meant to belittle the big guy (if you go through my postings, you will see that I like this guy and understand the role of his style).. but interestingly this shows the level off fitness even at his current age.

Miraz's comments are tempting to believe he is indeed 32-33, but I too have watched him very very closely..I too have played against him. 'Player' category students in DU have no ages..they cannot be put into a single batch because they keep on going ..

Anyways, I agree this thread is useless in terms of stimulating discussion..but I hope it was fun.

And for Kabir: real cricket freaks can find time for this even after working for hours people may think exceptionally long! cricket is bigger than life man!!

Wrote this before - Great guy. He is my age, maybe younger. Doesn't come to the site himself but has friends who update him (his words). I am thinking about calling him and congratulating him for his wonderful effort. If it wasn't for the heat, he'd have gotten his hundred yesterday.
