Are we now in need of a Bowling Coach ? Because...
Guys, do we really need a bowling coach as many ppl recently saying at if we have some dept in our bowling we gonna be more competative as our batting seems to be okay under Mr. Whatmore's guidence. We just lack a lot in Bowling. Ponting, Eddie Barlow, Ganguly, Wasim and many say we lack more in bowling than in batting
So, do we need a bowling coach after all and who should he be?
I think we should have Dennis Lilee as our bowling coach but is he ready to come for our players?

I think we have always been in need of a bowling and batting coach... They should help develop those skills in our players.

This poll is onesided. No one will vote "No" unless they are BCB officials.

Even they may vote yes but may not be able to anything about it. I wonder about finances - how much does the BCB have in its coffers to support "buying" a bowling coach?

I am sure finance is not an issue. They still have 25 crore in fixed deposit. Plus the tv rights, match revenues, their savings should continue to increase. Mind you, BCB is the only sports fedaration in Bangladesh that does not take allowence from the National Sports Council.

Money is not a problem. They earn a lot compared to PCB and Srilankan cricket board I guess.

We deifnitely need bowling coaches as well as batting coaches who can teach proper technique to youngsters at the grass-roots level. I don't see any usage of specialized bowling/batting coach in our National Team level although I would like to see experts helping out the players in a short-term basis. I think the money should be utilized on the talent to come instead of on the players we are already using for our national team.
We also need to spend the money on infrastructural issues, like proper fields, proper/sporting wickets, maintaining those wickets, practice facilities and cricketing camps and programmes like the Grameen Bowler Search- etc etc.
I don't expect too much out of our current national team, but they will play a huge part in laying the foundation from which our future talents can take off and be competitive in world cricket. I can't wait for that day when we can play competitive cricket with our sub-continental neighbors and even be victorious against them, and I know it won't be long before we actually see that.

We can send Sadat to MRF camp. Masrafe was built there. I hope Sadat will be a good bowler after the camp.
He has enough height, good action and moreover speed!

I like two names, Andy Roberts or Wasim Akram. I believe with either of them our bowling will be sharp enough to threat the opponent.
But, we should have bouncy and green pitches to norture the newly trained pacers.

Isn't it obvious why? The only world-class bowler we have is Mashrafee, and even he needs an little rectification of his technique... The young bowlers who are learning their craft in the national leagues and A tours need a good bowling coach ASAP before they start learning bad habits with their bowling actions.
Having said that, will teh new U19 coach (Allister de Winter) be able to address this need (as he is a former bowling coach at WA, Oz). ????
Do you guys think we need a specialist bowling coach (in the mould of Dennis Lillee). What are the other bowling coaches out there?

Mashrafe is not a world class bowler in odi . Look at his stats he never had a 5 wickets haul yet but he is very much capable to our standard . So , we need the bowlers who can break the stumps apart .

No, he is a world-class bowler. Stats aren't everything. He is still young (only 21), and is improving. He has shown great talent in the last ODI series against ENg-Aus.
On a general note: People, Stop looking at stats and think about performances.

Dav is better for Batting than fow bowling.
I agree with u "Bat&PadTogether" that Wasim knowes Bd condition better but also do andy Roberts....
I think we should bring both and give them two different roles...
I think Wasim would better than Roberts just that it would be easier for Him to come than Roberts...
I dont think Roberts would come as a coach...but would mr. wasim be ready to come fro us as coach till da next WC2007????

Andy Robert would be a good idea. He already did some work with bangladesh and knows how BD system works. But is he willing to come?
