slur during ashraful\'s 94?
i was just watching highlights of ashraful's 94 against england... and just before he hits flintoff for a 6, i think someone shouts "let's get the b******* out!" not that it's a big deal or anything, but i was curious, did anyone else hear the same thing?
(on the widely distributed 3:45 highlights video, it's at 2:05).

Excellent ears!!
I just heard it, and you are right. But I'm not quite sure if it's an on-the-field player saying it. The mic picks up audio from the crowd as well. Sounded to me as though it came out of someone from the spectators. I could be wrong though.

Ok I watched it again, I don't really think any of the players said it. If it was this loud for the stump mic to be pick it up - surely the umpires would have intervened.

It was the crowd.
I remember someone shouting "Get on with it you puff" to Gilchrist when Harmison boxed him in one of the games.

that explains a lot!!
anyways, I guess you like that shot too don't you. When I first saw the highlights, I also watched that 6 like 20x. I can't even move my hands like that.
But I didn't hear the abuse... From now on I will call you the "earman"

you know what I could have sworn the same.I was almost damn sure I heard that "abusive" comment but I thought it came from one of the spectators!
Didn't rewind it to see "who" it came from though!

i still watch that video several times a day... it always puts me in a good mood (that, and the BD-Aus highlights video of course, with rafique screaming "ja! ja! ja!" at aftab on the last ball as they scamper that run... simply timeless). my fave shot is actually that second (front foot) six off harmison... "amazing cricket shot! amazing!"

if it was from a player then it would be a serious case. remember what happened to lehmann after he called a SL player "monkey".
But if it is from the crowd then it is ok. guys who visited dhaka stadium know what sort of abuse crowd can give to players thus we cant really complain. if it is dealing with racism, just grow a thick skin as nothing can be done. people who make this sort of comments are mostly ignorants and their opinion hardly counts.
