Thats true, Arnab...not really.

Some very good players of the hook shot play with the bat at an angle. Angling the bat can help you control the shot - i.e. whether u wanted to hook it in the air or on the ground.

Plus, we are looking at a picture of the follow-through. So its very difficult to tell if the bat was horzontal at the point of impact.
