Remind me why Mushfiq is batting at one down? Because he's got a defensive technique?
Sakib has defence too. Why doesnt Sakib go one down. Aftab at second drop and Ash to follow.

ashraful is showing some maturity but not enough, still producing some chances but our main concern will be aftab. he needs to get his acts together

miraz bhai this is exactly what ruins him...he should be used situationally...today bashar did a good job putting him in when 3 wickets came down quickly...ash has the technique to attack, take singles, and play the moving ball.
in such circumstances, ash should come in earlier...but for the time being he should stay at 5 or 6...really 5 since bashar is not better than him by any definition.

I think Ash is a good fit for #5 position. I was not initially warmed up to see Sakib in #4, but he seems to be improving and should be given longer stint at this position.

Im worried about nafee's poor form. Hopefully he will come out of it. As for some who wants to swap ash's position with saqibul, forget it. Saqibul is the best(nafees is having bad time) batsmen we got and the most consistent. try swapping with hablu. I think hablu will be better at no 7. I just wish mushfiq had a higher strike rate so that we can swap him with aftab
heres my list
nafees
tamim
mushfiq(if he had a good strike rate)
saqibul hasan
Ashraful
Habibul
Aftab
Mashrafe
rafiq
rasel

No, Ashraful should remain at #6 for now. No moving before the WC is over. Yes it can be done when there's a need to. But not permanently as yet.
After WC, he should be dealt with seriously. He should be at #5 or #4 (in priority sequence). But that's only after the WC is over.

I'd swap Bashar and Ashraful.
Steve Waugh played for a long time at six ...

Nah I defiantly think Ashraful is the highlight real, his shown great charisma and talent from the debut to present, his batting has been on and off, But, which Bangladeshi players hasn’t..!! So far I think he has been the most contributor to the scoring and winning of the matches in the world cup. I hope he improves and I hope him the very best for future cricket.

Right, the following answer to your question is that i think he should just remain as he is. His opening record doesn't seem all that as a opening batsman.

Despite getting a life Ash looked very calm and steady. I liked the way he batted.
Against the Lankans where everyone struggled against Malinga, it was this young man who dealt with him confidently. His every shot was assured and classy. He never looked frazile against the wild pace of Malinga. Thats the class.
I like the way he plays late specially against the spinners. His late cuts are brilliant. In my team I would put him at 4 not at 7 where I need an allrounder. Hee needs more time to settle in and build the innings. 7 is too late for him. There is no point of having him when the match is over.

One life? I though he got two .

10.4 Tucker to Mohammad Ashraful, 2 runs, Almost caught! Pure drama. Full and on the middle, Ashraful went for a lofted stroke - another risky shot, the adrenalin must be kicking in- and it floated behind mid-on. Pitcher was slow to react, turned, ran behind and even threw in a dive but it just eluded him. Bangladeshi fans would have sighed in relief, Indian fans would have been left muttering .....
11.2 Leverock to Mohammad Ashraful, 1 run, Dropped, poor delivery, pulled away, no elevation, short mkidwicket gets his fingertips to it
|
However I have to admit that now a days I see his confidence in his eyes that means he may be getting his form back. Talent was not the issue with him, its his lack pf confidence and lack of judgment that was dragging him down.
I don't mind him batting at #5 based on team's needs. Beyond that... one advise to Ash fans.... don't get too greedy and kill the golden goose...patience my friends patience!!!!

As fans thats what we do... when we express our opinion ...we pretend that we are the selector... coach ... the players....the opponent ....etc ... etc... isn't it?

Jay, not sure where you got that from. He didn't perform against India, and only played well against SL in a losing game, and against minnows Burmuda.... The real winners were the young trio in the India game. Without that win, we would never even dream of super 8s.

Yeah, that's cool man! Just thought it was funny.
But it raises the question, what if team selectors actually took notice of what we say? Maybe they are?

if ashraful continues to play with the same calmness and confidence, he should be promoted up the order in the future. for now, i don't think it's a good idea to unsettle sakib. let's see how things pan out, and if we do need him up the order, then maybe we can play him at 3.

2 more games with the current order...
if aftab continues to fail, then he belongs at 5 or 6, to be replaced by ash...this would be the order
1) SN/rajin
2) TI/rajin
3) ash
4) sakib
5) bashar
6) aftab
7) mushy

i think ash is in a perfect position, he is becoming a finisher day by day, so if he bat thr in no 6 or 7 our top order will b relaxed while batting, also his position can b shuffled based on teams need, just like today we need him on no 4 bcoz its a 21 overs game and he is experienced and big hitter as well. lots of big names batted in tht position; Bevan, Yuvraj, symonds, collingwood.... and i think the current batting line up is a successful part of the current game plan, as long as we r winning, we shud b happy with tht.

After Watching Ashraful In This Tournament, I Think He Improved His Problem on Shot Selection. He Doesn't Have Much Technical Error. He Improved but He has The Place to Improve More and More.
