anyways, we shouldn't be too relient on one player, losing mashrafee for the first game is a painful blow. but we should expect a solid team effort.

also i dont think pacers will be much effective on our pitches anyway. saw a report which said the Chittagong pitch is being made totally spin friendly. pretty sure the mirpur stadium is gonna be the same.

Default An encouraging factor by DS

However, the encouraging factor is that the paceman had earlier complained several times of the back pain but dramatically recovered the following day only to show his true character as born fighter.
"In West Indies he complained of back pain several times but ultimately completed the tournament without any interruption. That's why we are hopeful that something like that can happen also this time," said a cricketer without disclosing his ide
tity.

.....uhhhhh.....

What the hell was that? I am kind of disturbed by your analogy.

That is very bad news.... BD should not risk him for the first match if he is not 100% they should not force him to play . We may end up without Mashrafee for the whole year which wont be good news at all.

I am really surprised!!

No newspaper except Daily Star and Prothom Alo covered the news.

It suggests that the injury is not that serious.

Man.. he just keeps on getting injured... u know i actually dont mind if he doesnt play the india series.. of course he is the best player we ve got.. but then.. supposing he is injured.. and forces himself and plays.. i mean hez a great fighter and he may as well do that.. but that may lead to a long time injury.. we seriously dont want that.. I just hope that whatever happens he doesnt go for that loooooong gap again.. where he had to have 2 operations.. newayz.. im still praying that the injury is nothing serious ! inshallah he will make it !

Guys this is cricket and your gonna get injured players. So far in Mortaza's slightly more than five and half years career he has being injured twice. Once he had operations and now this back pain he is having.

I believe his back pain is result of too much cricket being played now days. Just look at how long the world cup was. They stayed in the carribean for 2 months plus 10 days, where they arrived early for the tri series between Canda and Bermuda. You can say we played 11 ODI matches including the 2 ODI warmup matches during the space of time but imagine the gruelling net sessions not only Mortaza and also other fast bowlers had to go through from other countries.

These things are bound to happen and we should be prepared for it. Time to try out our reserve bowlers who deserve chance too.

Well things could not have gone more worse for us.

Seems like JO will play again as SN won't make it to the main eleven. I don't mind playing JO if we get a good solid start and if our middle order can make it up. But the question is will they be able to do it? If not then we will be going backwards.

Just wondering how the time changes. Imagine Javed opening with Tamim just before the WC! No one could imagine it, but boy it is the reality now. I always wanted to give Nafees more time to get his form back specially when he will be playing on home soil. But he can only blame himself, no one could play for him. Even if he could make a 40+ innings still he might get a chance.

Oh boy. Looks like Shahadat will have to pull a Petrelli if we are to win anything in this series.

I think he should be given to relax after a tiring World Cup, which he passed with all sorts of discomforts. Pushing him out is taking a big risk for the future and this should be considered by the team management. In case he gets himself down for another two years, it will be a drive back home from a long way of the label "giant killers". This is the reason that Bangladesh team should have atleast five genuine pacers, other than Mashrafe, in hand with the ability to bring early wickets. This is what big teams do and we are on the verge of being that.

Forgetting for a moment that our arguably the most important Tiger has given us an injury scare... now think about it : Bangladesh cricket hasnt reached the stage where you can "rest" your key player(s) against India, or any Test team for that matter, for the sake of giving some time-off after a gruelling campaign. It should be kept in mind that these key players are mostly very young, and they need to play as much as possible to go through different sorts of match situation to learn further and gain experience.

SN should play the entire series regardless his performance in WC.

Another thing came into my mind. during WC, there was some news that BD team is quite superstitious. Just before Ireland game, Rasel was injured and was ruled out from the team and the whole team started to believe that its not our day. I hope unfortunately, if Mash cant play tomorrow, they wont take it as a bad sign but work even harder to start the series with a win.
