proposal for a TEAM from bangladesh in IPL
i think we should seriously think about a 9th team in the IPL from bangladesh like there is one in ICL.
its tru that with only 4 players of foreign quota it will be tough for the BD players to get in the best 11 when a players have 10 foreign players registered. because it makes sense to play a player from a higher ranked nation.
so i think we should apply for a team of bangladeshi players in the IPL so that these bangladesh players get a chance.
in that case i also want to suggest a rule for team selection.
*** like other teams we can also have 10 foreigner in the squad and 4 can play. in this case indians will also be treated as foreigners
*** the squad can also have 10 players from the lastest bangladesh international team. and not more than 4 can play.
*** the rest of the 3 player should be selected from u-19 or academy team players who are very promising and almost ready for a national call-up.
so 4 players from BD national team, 4 internationa players and 3 young promising players.
this would be a good blend for our players to get some good experience specially the younger players.
also we can make the no of foreiners 3 and make the no of age-group players 4

i think its an indian business leaugue
icl was also an domestic league. later they called on lahore and dhaka teams.
for promotion of cricket i think scottih and irish national team plays in engish domwstic league against english counties.
similarly i think usa and canada were invited in carribean league. and kenya ximbabwe namibia in SAfrica.
also there was a proposal of a bangladesh side in indian ranji trophy
for the promotion of cricket these idea's will always be apreciated.
besides promotion of cricket also it could be a great piece of business by BCCI and IPL

waste of time-
there is a big difference between ipl and icl
icl- is bank rolled by zee network- they have rights to all the team
in ipl- they have auctioned the brand names (such as kkr) and pple like srk, ambani and other tycoons have bought them for millions of dollars
got the point

We can think many things, modi needs to think instead. Will he?? I doubt.
Is there any BD owner who will be interested to invest $ 75-100 Million for a team? We like to play/have a team in IPL alone isn't enough to convince IPL auth, unless it's backed by money.

A very bad idea. I would urge BCB to make arrangement with BCCI so that our A team could play in Ranji and our u19 could play equivalent tourney. For IPL, ICL or any other PL read my signature. I am more than happy that Mash and Ash is not playing but earning the money.

Agree ..If its for the fans then an IPL team would be good but if its for the best of BD's cricket then
--Arangement to have a team in Duleep Trophy and in Ranji
OR
--Arrangement to play individual players in a Ranji (Like Enamul )
will outdue the benefits of a IPL team.

Playing in India will not really improve our cricket. Try playing with county teams rather. Make contact with ECB to arrange back-to-back tours every two year.

And the other thing we can do is start BPL and run it exactly like IPL and thats gono require sponsorship, which we can get from the top mobile companies such as Grameen Phone, Aktel, Warid, Bangla Link, and then bring in private banks ( Brack, Prime ) and pharama companies, and cosmetic companies such as Unilever bangladesh and let them each buy a team from an Auction, and then have a Auction for domestic and International players. There you go ! But for all these stuff to happen, you will need some educated and open minded people ( people who think outside the box). By the way, BPL doesn't have to be as big as IPL, and most likely it wont be, because we don't have rich business moguls, but it doesn't have to be as poor quality as PCL. I mean PCL is good for starters but it is no where near IPL. Now a days sports is all about money and sponsorship. Now if bcb wants BPL to be successful, they not only have to think about it from a cricket prospective, but also give serious attention to the financial model to make it successful in the long run. Now if that means that you have to hire some druggies like Modi, then so be it !

As far my concern goes, IPL is India's own legue. Its time for us to think seriously about our BPL. That's thing might just give us a big boost.
