Being a big car enthusiast myself with a pretentious attempt to show my G, I'm starting my first thread on BC.
I'm pretty sure that most BC members are car lovers. Share what car you drive now or previously owned. Which is going to be your next? Post some pix. Commend the brand and model you prefer to others.
I will start with mine:
My late father owned few Toyota and Honda in his life-time. I learned driving when I was only 12 with his Toyota Starlet. Later, we owned a Toyota Carina and a Honda CR-V. I was let to drive the Carina but wasn't allowed to drive the CR-V much.
During my undergrad life in Canada, I bought my first car: a high mileage BMW 318i from a boro bhai. I frequently drove an old Honda Civic Coupe of my friend as well.
Now, I own 3:
1. 14 Toyota Rav4 LE
2. 08 Ford Edge Ltd.
3. 07 Infiniti G35 Coupe (Sports)
I drive No. 2 & 3 while I bought the Rav4 recently for my missus. Obviously, I love No. 3 the most. Here is a pic:
I've recently become a fan of Jaguar F-Type V8 (550hp). But that's still way out of my league, may be in few years.
My dad always owned Sports cars when he was doing his undergrad in the US. His favourite one he owned was the Nissan 280z and my goal was to get the 380z as my first car after the 10k price cut from few years ago, but I realized it would still be heavy on the wallet especially since the higher octane gas it eats up and the stupid Carbon Tax implemented in Ontario!
One day though...

I got a decent inheritence but don't want spend it on a car.
Anyway no one will steal or break into my car, unless they are a druggie.
As I said gets me from A to B,low petrol, few problems, served me well.
I drive a very old Ford Focus 2000 car. It's made in west Germany and has given me no problems since the 2 years I have owned it. With all these East europeans driving around dangerously in their BMW's , this is a perfect car. If they hit me, it will cost them more to repair their car compared to mine, which would be an instant writeoff and I will then get a new car!
Thats the way Shingara .
I will only replace mine in same situation or more than a thousand to spend on repairs.
I spend 10 dollars a week on petrol generally, its cheap run my car.

A bit, yeah, may be. But seriously, I don't drive or mod to show off. Since I was a kid, all I wanted was to drive a sports car. And I still do. Hence, "if I won a million dollar", everyone from my work, friends & family knows what I'm going to do with it.
Well, there are 2 types of people re: cars:
1) Who regard cars only a means of transportation, point A to B
2) And there are people like me who fancy looks, horsepower, performance, exhaust notes and treat their car like a baby
Nothing wrong in either of them. It's just an obsession I guess.

I just leased a 2017 Honda Civic Coupe....like a month ago and still hasn't arrived yet lol. It will be my first car.
Thanks man. I bought it way back in 2010 from your city on a dark rainy night. It was 25k + tax.
Did you get the SI?
One of the reasons I started hating Civic Coupes is that the drivers always tend to race with mine on roads. And mine is bit slow from stop and I'm not always into revving it from 2nd gear either. So, I had both good and bad days with it.
No, I got the basic trim. Didn't want to spend to much on a car since I'm saving to get my own place in a few years. Besides the 2017 Si isn't out yet lol. Also I don't know how to drive manual sadly, been looking for someone with one so I can learn.

Now I hate fancy car specially those cars that runs fast and smooth... after i got a speeding ticket of $460+ while driving my friend's SUV.... it was soo smooth.... I didn't realized I was driving so fast.
Now I have to carry those points for next 3 years and pay more for my insurance. One mistake screwed up my 3 years.

I hear you man. I had similar experience when I first took out a brand new X5 of my friend for a spin on DVP (Toronto). FYI, DVP is an expressway that livens up like an NFS street-track at night. It was so smooth that I didn't realize how fast I was going.
Fortunately, I never had to pay a speeding ticket for the last 10 years I've been driving. When I do so (hopefully not), it will slow me down.
During 2012 holiday season, I was in Texas and my friend was taking us to see something I forget now. We were in a rental car and my friend was trying to catch up with another car (his uncle's). He made a pass over an undercover cop SUV (I warned him) and was pulled over. He got so nervous that he made few mistakes while going for an emergency stop. He was fined 3 x $560 = $1680 for speeding, using emergency signal instead of right turn signal while going to right most curb and then stopping all-signals entirely.

He was able to reduce the fine later. But still
That is horrible ...he must have pissed off the police officer .... I also never got any tickets ...I had multiple close calls but pulled over only once in interstate ..and another time a warning from the police cars microphone without pulling me over .....at interstate when I got pulled over ..I was only given a warning without any ticket /fines .....
And at that time I neither had my work id or pba card .... one of my close friend is a cop who gave me a pba card ..and my work id says emergency medicine on it ....
But neither was needed when I got pulled over ....
During my college years ...there were days I spent time idling in parked car with a girl ... numerous times police came to window ..with similar story "somebody got robbed nearby who has similar car " and I always tell them...u are more than welcome to search my car and they refuse every single time ..and never even told me to step out of the car ....just looks at my drivers licence and says have a nice day .....
I think the key is to be extremely polite with them ..... I have a lot of respect for police officers maybe it comes out when I talk to them ....
