Some fierce batting by NZ.
315/7, their highest score against Lanka.

Not yet, if England wins now, and then against NZ, SL may go through along with England

SA out,now it will be more shocking to see Ind out.
How strange cricket is,Pak,Eng,NZ looks so good but SA,Ind ,Sril are almost out of the tournament.
Feeling sorry for Srilnka hope they get thrgh some how.
Lots of upsets in this tournmnt. There wld have been more if BD were playing.

Though I would have been happier to see England crumbling even more (as they're coming to play us and their bad performance would have brough them down), I still am liking the absence of total domination by a particular team. That's how it should be.

If NZ wins or ties they will go through. Else SL goes to SL (meaning England win).

England were extremely lucky winning the toss in both matches, as that made a big difference. And I didnt get it; why did Strauss not allow Smith a runner? I understand he can refuse it, but was it bad sportsmanship?

Smith is known to have cramps if he stays in the crease for a long time. Most of the times he passes a 100, he gets a cramp. SO IMO it was not bad sportsmanship from Strauss. Rather Smith needs to have better cramp prevention. Just as Utseya was right in refusing Shakib a runner.

Now that I read the background, Strauss was accused of being too soft when he called back Angelo Matthews so maybe not allowing a runner was a sort of reaction to the earlier criticism

100 up for Australia. Paine had a good start. 100/2 after 19.2 overs.

Dhoni is running out of ideas. Hussey and Pont is settled now. If the spinner can't get these two Ind will be in trouble. Their quick is faltu (with the exception of Nehra).

A team that brings back Dravid instead of Dada in ODI for crying out loud deserves to lose badly

Pont gets his 2nd fifty in the tourney. Great partnership yet again with Hussey.
Ishant Sharma having a life time experience in the middle.
Aus 143/2 after 27.

I think age was a factor which shouldn't be as long as the player is performing. Gangu has 22 centuries against Dravid's 12. The average and total runs are more or less the same.

300+ for sure. 152/2 after 28.4. Usually you double the score after 30 overs when wicket in hands.

If this match is cancelled because of rain then India will be praying Pak beat Aus as well.

I support their strategy to give their youth a chance. The bold decision sparked a quick turnaround in ODI performances couple of yrs back. But now they're going back to their old guns again? If they truly feel that's the way to go, then Dada's the one who should've been back in the ODI team not Dravid. Dravid playing for the test team I could understand.
Go Australia
