Congrats Mushfiq on a well deserved Century
Amid all the doom and gloom, congratulation Mushfiq on a century. Probably our best test batsman along with Riyad. Kind of ironic that we hide our best so late down the order.
Just like in the ODIs, seems like our middle and late order is better than our top order. Need a serious reshuffle in our batting order and fix the top.

Exactly, batting order should be reshuffled and reconsidered, to me Mush can come at fourth position and Riad at fifth, but not much earlier like one down or two down. Cause, we know that Mushy has problem with the new balls with inswing or incoming deliveries, in that case if he comes little later than he can properly adjust his innings and have ample time to recover innings for his team and propel the runs.

Congratulations to Young tiger M.Rahim
Dont have to say much.. We can see the characteristic of a Good player by how he played his innings today....... Srinaath aka Edurer Bachaa got mad at rahim and started saying some bullshit to rahim. He kept his Cool and he demoralized most of the ballers and he put up with very fine 101 runs in his basket . He lift up his bat high for Bangladesh. After when he got cought in boundary . We did see in his face he was sad. He still wanted to play and win the match for Bangladesh.... Onace again Congrats to Mushfiqur Rahim. I will finish with what Jamie Siddons said
" His comments might bite him on his bum in a few years time. It might even hit him in the bum in a week's time" Very deep meaningful words....

And yet, they won't move him up.
I don't buy the "he needs to be where he is to get us runs down the order when the middle order crashes" crap. If he plays up the order, we won't have a crash to begin with.

I think the reluctance may be born out of the fear that he may not do that well if pushed up. There are instances of players losing their mojo once their position is changed and vice versa.
But then again, you'll never know unless you do.

Mushy was asked today if he would like to bat up in the order and Mushy said that he would if management wants, but he also said that it is not easy to bat up in the order after keeping 70-80 overs. We gotta remember that in all test teams, WK comes at 6-7, not before that.

^^ Sanga does not keep wicket in Tests. Was Taibu given a top order slot before white players rebeled?
IMO, Mushfiq has done the right thing by not volunteer himself for #3 or #4 slot.

Yep, in the Heath Streak era, Taibu used to bat at 7.

Extremely proud of him. No one plays with the tail as good as Mushy. Not even Pilot in his hay days. He has it all. He can hit cleanly. He has a beautiful range of shots and the necessary temperament to succeed in top flight cricket. Congrats to the latest test centurion from Bangladesh. He has earned the right to bat either at no.5 or no.6. Since he also keeps, I am reluctant to put him at no.3 or 4. But, in the future, I would like to see him give up his keeping duties and concentrate solely as a top order bat.

I think sixth position is good for Mushy.
And yeah congrats to Mushy, but the way he celebrated after his century looked a bit odd to me coz it looked like as if he was proving a point to the Indians. But anyway, these are young players; emotions play roles sometimes.

no, because they had better batsmen than him. after the white players went out he was the best batsman and hence went up the order.

Yes, at least. Don't make him bat at #7, he's not a #7. He will give us more half centuries and centuries if we don't destine him to bat with tail-enders.

Sehwag the spade caller thinks you mushfiq batted well.....he is a batsman who plays to his merits and improve from there on then be flashy like Shakib and Tamim...i guess Tamim is just trying to replicate his 2007 wc innings...they need to play to their potetial and improve form the core!!

What's the most runs that a Bangladesh batsman has scored in both innings of a test? I noticed Mushy scored 145 is there any higher than that? Obviously Ash scored 158 in one innings and Aminul Islam scored 145 in one as well. Any others?

Congratz mushfiq..you batted very well and scored a century basically at a run off of every ball..the guy has just shown great technique and heavy price on his wicket..he has really worked on his batting and shows that you dont have to play away from your body to score big..great job mushfiq..i hope you average a 40 in tests soon..

His test batting average is almost 27. Since September of 2008, Mushfiq's test batting avg is higher than 40.

Only thing I have to say is this is a well deserved century.
Now, he temporarily stops the “Mushy dropping/bashing” that some of us who always wanted for some no – record to-show- for player.
I know this is just a beginning for you, there’s more to come.

He's shown that he's one of our best Test batsmen, but he needs to improve glovework...
Great innings!
