Default When Mash comes we will have 9 batsman

Can we start scoring 350 on consistent basis? That should be good enough to draw some test matches.

We shouldn't have to rely on Mash to get to 350.

Sacrifice one of the Test bowlers for Mash?! Don't like the idea.

Russell, one of the things you have to take into consideration and think very clearly that Mashrafee is not a batsman. Mash is not quite an all-rounder either, he is genuine bowler who can bat a bit and sometimes, soemtimes he can stretch an innings and save us, but you can not rely on Mash to hold an innings down with a bat most of the time. Also let's look at Mash's first calss batting record, I don't know, but does he have any century in the local league yet, I don't know.

But I see Russell what you are thinking and yes, Mash is a treasure for us when he comes back all healed and healthy. But I will also have to agree with Eshen bhai here and if it was upto me I would be very worried replacing one of our other test bowlers with Mash, especially when he is having a lot serious knee problem, but for our one day and 20/20 unit, a healthy Mash is a 2 thumbs up!

BD lower half batting line-up is quite intimidating. For most teams, tail starts at 6 wickets down. For BD, it starts no early than 7 wickets down and even then, it is only a semi-tail all the way to the number 10.

Let me put it this way - in the test that just ended, i am sure that last wickets have added more runs than the top 5 wickets. Didn't cross check, but even if wrong, i would be close.

Mash is one of the crappiest Test and T20 bowler. He should play the ODIs only. Don't want to see a one-dimentional bowler who can't bowl with the old ball.

Shafiul, Rubel got more variations and with time they will get much better.

I think mash should retire from test
and play only odi and 20/20

our pacer should be

shahadat
shafiul
rubel
talha
subhashis
sajedul
robin

among these in test

What? Didn't you see Shahadat bat yesterday? Even Rubel & Shafiul did pretty good. Y'see, it becomes exponentially tougher for even superstars like Mash to get back in the team, once you are out of the first 11....

Well If Mash makes it back to the test team replacing Shafiul. Then we will have the most deep batting line up. Shahadat has shown sign that he can be a good no.9, and if he is coming after Mashrafe, who has already shown his capabilities from time to time. We might have a very strong tail.

When will Mash be fit and ready to play? I hope that he will be well for the NZ trip, or maybe he should recover completely for the English tour. I feel the English tour is more important.

Mash was always a decent late-order batter, but surely he hasn't improved his batting in 7 months so much that he's now a "batsman"?

As long as he picks wicket consistently during new ball in effect, batting does not matter much. He helped register the draw by his batting with Rajib in last CTG test against the current opponent.

Is it possible that Mash is a must for ODIs way more than any other bowler but not at all for test...in test he will take 1-2 wickets every innings regardless of other bowlers....an in all honesty he was in his prime just b4 the injury!!

shahadat had the best defense, but nowadays he is trying for shots which he recently learnt.

anyway our best batsman from the pacers we had was tapash baisya or md, sharif

and you should never rely on 9 batsmen to score 350

u should rely on top four to score centuries and at least cros 250-300+ then the tal to add the icing on cake
