On current form, Mash doesn't deserve to be in the final XI. He should make way for rubel or Nazmul in the next game...

From CI:

Razzak (Man of the Match): "I am still not on top of the world, my team-mates helped me a lot with the fielding. Wonderful to get the hat-trick. I am pleased that we have come back strongly in the second game."
I don't get it. Doesn't look like a hat-trick looking at the FOW. Did he really get one?

Anyway congrats to the boys. Should have won the first match though.

EDIT: Don't worry see it now.

I don't rate Nafees as highly as some (I'd pick Zunaed ahead of him almost every time), but in the interests of fairness it seems odd that he scores a decent ODI 50 against NZ and is dropped while Ash gets into the side on the back of a few domestic games.

Objectively this seems most unfair.

Good win today though.

This captaincy issue needs to be resolved ahead of the WC.

In the past, Shakib has said he did not want the captaincy, firstly because it distracts him and lately because he doesn’t feel he has enough input in team selection.

Mashrafe can’t be captain because he is either not fit enough or not good enough to make the first XI.

Given the situation, the selectors need to award the captaincy to someone else for the sake of stability if nothing else.

I say give the captaincy to Mushfiq (guaranteed starter and reasonably experienced) or Razzak (guaranteed ODI starter and senior player). At least then we’d knwo where we stand and there can be no further carping from the likes of Shakib, Mashrafe or Ashraful...

You all can suck it, for doubting Siddique. Look at his scores this year at 3, both test and ODI. He is our best #3 atm, so lets not try to fix that spot, and ruin it.
siddique was given a life when he was 0..if that catch was taken i would have loved to see ur comment then...but nevertheless i would give credit where its due..well done siddique and roqibul..umm now next..

In ODI ranking for bowlers, Shakib is in second place and Vettori is No 1. I hope he ends the year as NO 2.

not to piss anyone off but...

do you guys still believe mortaza deserves a spot in the team until he is fully fit?

He has been bowling very poorly due to his constant injuries, he also changed his bowling style once again which decreased his speed. I believe it's time to rest mortaza and give someone else the chance to be in the team.

No, its a very valid question to ask. We shouldn't be wasting a place for someone who bowls just 3 or 4 overs per inning and has the highest econ. rate.

What I observed from the gallery that he was totally detached from the rest of the team. He was fielding on the deep and his overall body language was poor. Whenever a wicket fell he wasn't rushing to the center but was casually walking to rest of his teammates as if he didn't want to.

Having said all that, I am a hardcore fan of him. I want a fit and performing Mash for the WC. But right now he should take rest and play only one of the next three matches making way for Rubel who I think is going to be the a important part of our WC strategy.

Every player in Bangladesh team is under pressure in case they don't get selected in the next match. This is good competition, good for the game. I was actually feeling sad when player like Razzak said, well I tried to play my best cricket so that I can be selected in the next match.

Mashrafee - because of him we are still a player down. I think selectors are too scared to drop him from the team, afterall he is their 'chosen' captain but well done to Shakib for giving him only 3 overs. He needs to practice in the premier league.

We were actually going after Razzak when he was in poor form not so long ago. Team management stuck with him and see how he got back to form just before the WC. We all know Mash is low in confidence right now. He is completely different type of player when he is charged up. ( May be Sehwag can help him? :p)

Mash has had lots of demoralizing experience in his career- Taylor's beating, KKR's thrashing & above all the injuries. No wonder his confidence is drained off.

Yes, we all respect Mash's tenacity as a fighter and would like to see him bowl the way he used to. The point is that he still isn't back in form. Perhaps, eventually, he will be; but the national team isn't the place for him to try to play himself back into form -- we are not yet good enough to be able to afford a non-performer.

I'm not saying that we should put him out to pasture; let him try to regain his old form in FC matches -- if he does, we can bring him back into the eleven. But given that we have pacers like Rubel chomping at the bit (it's not as if we don't have anyone of decent calibre to substitute for Mash), let's make the professional decisions that make our team stronger without allowing sentiment to cloud our judgement.
