When did he mention that? Can you provide a link please.
Expecting Canada to put up a decent performance. Havinf left Toronto in mid January, the Canadians are coming directly off a 2-week conditioning+training camp at Dubai's Global Cricket Academy (arguably the world's best cricket academy) and an easy win over the Netherlands in a practice match.
This team is much different and younger than the one we faced in 2003, or even the one we played against in the tri-series before the 2007 WC. The current squad is more stable, and team selection is much more practical, with the future in mind.
Captain Ashish Bagai is the run-machine as ever, but watch out for the 19-yr old one-down batsman Ruvindu Gunasekera, who got himself an opportunity to play in Sri Lanka's domestic season last year - a better choice than playing in the Canadian domestic leagues. His style is extremely similar to our Junaid's, and that's nothing but coincidence... I doubt either of them know each other! Posted via BC Mobile Edition (Blackberry)
Chittagong, Feb 9 (bdnews24.com)—The national cricket team has reached Chittagong to play a warm up match ahead of the World Cup.
They arrived in the port city airport around 8:10pm on Wednesday, Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir, chairman of the Chittagong venue told bdnews24.com.
Bangladesh on Saturday will play Canada in their first practice match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium and on Pakistan on Feb 15 in Dhaka.
There will be a practice session on the following day around 2pm at the World Cup venue. The tigers earlier held a conditioning camp from Feb 1 to 4.
Canada will reach Chittagong on Thursday around 7pm.
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan on Tuesday at a press meet said: "We know the playing conditions, our boys are fit and preparation is fine. Besides, we've improved a lot in the last 12-15 months."
About the possible teams to play the practice matches, he said, "Ahead of the World Cup, we'll do some experiment with the players."
Chittagong will host two matches of the first round, to begin on Feb 19, with England on Mar 11 and the Netherlands on Mar 14.

I saw his interview on NTV saying exactly the same thing. Pathetic!
Can't agree more. This kind of 'loser' attitude exist only in the older generation of cricketers like Ashraful, you wouldn't hear things like that from the newer bunch. But, I wish him best of luck, hope he plays well in one of the matches.

Roni bhai mone hoi ektu beshi bole felchen.
Ash didn't say we cannot beat India. He said it will be tough to beat them this time. He mentioned the other 3 teams because these teams are a bit weaker against spin bowling. India is king against the spin. Look at Shakib's stats against them. Only Mash has good stats against them and he is out of the team.

Our coach said we need miracle to win against the big teams. So do you want him out too??

^^ OK Murad bro.. I didn't see the last lines of the interview on NTV news - I guess that was another of journalism tricks. Apologies I take back what I said.
Regarding including him in the team, I personally do not want him against the India match - this is a very high pressure game - the opening match plus it has been over-hyped by the fans due to the win of 2007. I don't think he will be able to take this kind pressure.

Unfortunately, no TV broadcast will be done for any WC warmups except India's. However, BC chat and match-thread, and CricInfo are always there Posted via BC Mobile Edition (Blackberry)

Source?
Yes it doesn't have the "Live" icon beside the match in the Warm-up fixture on their World Cup section, and neither does the India-Australia match, which will have TV coverage. So I'm not sure what to take out of this...

Good idea. Is there anyone from Chittagong? Plus will there be any coverage for this match by any television channels? There are so many channels in Bangladesh right now and i wonder why no one has taken the responsibility to show these practice games.

I actually bowled to one of the batsman, and he wasnt much threat, although he was mostly defending.
lets hope we can win the toss and bat first... i would like to see how much we can score against a side like Canada...
my expectation other than convincingly winning the match is:
Junaid and Rockibul maintaining 80-100% strike rate....
Mahmudullah and Naeem hitting atleast 4 boundaries each...
