Some random thoughts before the Netherlands match
- This is the a must win match for us and we should not be overconfident about winning
- I do not know why this match has been scheduled to be a day match but I am very happy about this. Toss will not have that much effect hopefully.
- If the pitch behaves like the England match, we should win quite comfortably as I don't see the dutch being able to cope up with our brigade of spinners.
- I do not think we can do much to improve the NRR so much that in case it boils down to it then we'll go thru. Nevertheless, batting second with a score to chase will help greatly addressing this issue.

Batting second might also help if our fast bowlers can utilize the early morning conditions, unless I'm misreading the weather in Chittagong.

You're not. ZACS gets plenty of morning breeze from the BoB.

Oh, how I'd love to see a repeat of the Canada game in the Warm ups...

We would pick up +3NRR. It WAS in Chittagong, and Canada DID beat Netherlands as recently as Feb 6th, so its certainly possible...

I've done all the permutations in my head. Its too much to write here but the simplest scenarios which most of you have probably thought up anyway is as follows:
1. West Indies beat England.....We beat Netherlands = We go through to the QF!! (probably)
2. England beat West Indies......this one sucks.....we have to beat both Netherlands and South Africa!
Of course this world cup has had plenty of ups and downs but one should remember that most of these were caused by Team England. Ireland remains a threat but they will not be playing the ever-so-unpredicatable England anymore.
We need to get to the QF.....to make a statement......pray that West Indies are ruthless on that day, and we are equally ruthless against the Dutch.

Addition to it, we should have a reasonable expectations that we do not have any middle order that can contribute big. So, few key players have to really contribute and bowlers and fielders have to do the same as they did last few matches...
Dutch got quiet a few good batters in their line up....hope Raz and Shakib are ready for them or the part timers

OTOH West Indies can choose to experiment as a win is not a necessity.

The Dutch were last seen near the Green Road area mingling with some rickshawalas.

I agree. it's a day match, early in the morning the pitch would have a bit of moisture which should be good for our seamers. As the ball gets older our spinners can come through and finish them off.
But again it depends on the best team on the day, in this world cup teams on paper count for little IMO

Cricket is a game that can be anyone's game on a given day. and no team should be underestimated, as any low ranked team can cause an upset. I was amazed at the way the Kenyan team batted against the Aussies today.

Only thing standing between us and the +3NRR is a guy by the name Ryan ten Doeschate. Sure hope we send him back before he gets set today.

Or lose to England on purpose to take revenge on us for how they were treated after destroying us on our last encounter.
