If you play safe, you will be always mediocre.
Tamim will be either a big hero or a big mouth
I can't see any other option for him.
He can't be mediocre. Trust me nobody gonna like mediocre Tamim.

Have a look at the this poll
http://www.banglacricket.com/alochon...ad.php?t=36541
Funny Huh!
Abdur Razzak got only one vote against Shafiul Islam's 21

I would say Abdur Razzak is the most consistent player of this current squad.
Certainly he is not the popular one.

Here is hoping that Tamim proves all doubters among us wrong and plays the innings of his life on Saturday!

So we are bashing one of our better players now for being optimistic and trying to rally the team before the biggest match of their lives. and for what? for having a 3-2 record and being 2 point out of the group lead! nice! ei na hole fan!

Is Hashim Amla a Mediocore? What about Kalis, Trott, Hussey, Ghambhir, Sangakara, Jawawardane? None of them are as explosive as Tamim, Shehwag or Gayle but they are still successful. You need the right frame of mind to be successful. You can't go bang bang everywhere everyday. And you can't be too complacent. You have to give the due respect to a bowler. I think international bowlers have already figured out Tamim's weakness. This is not the first time he got bowled against swinging fast Ball. Bresnan did it couple of times in the last BD tour as well. You can't always get away saying the ball was unplayable. Bowlers will bowl extra ordinary balls. You have to decide how you will deal with them. Tamim should shut his mouth and work on his batting and fitness or else he will embarass himself.

When will our batters learn to play according to the merit of the ball? Sometimes they look so confused. They seem to decide before the match how will they approach in the crease. Somedays they are too defensive, on other days they will go after every single ball. I have seen this in Ashraful, Junaed, Tamim a few times. In the match against WI Ashraful seemed to try a particular shot from the very begining. He looked so satisfied when he scored that boundary through extra cover after trying few times. He didn't stop playing his fancy shots even in that disastrous situation. Shakib wanted to score a big six off Benn's first ball without knowing where will he bowl and paid the price. Tamim and Shakib may not be as bad as Ashraful but they have similarities in mindset. I am not saying these just because Tamim scored ducks and we were all out for 58 against WI but every time I watched Tamim play I had my heart in my mouth even when he scored those centuries against England.

dashing opener kina, ektu mouth open koratai shabhabik.
Dhaka is the best ground for him, hope he delivers, but I'd like him to be more watchful in the first few overs against Steyn & Mokkel.

I think we all agree that Tamim is a world class player. I really think he eases pressure off him by making promises and may be it makes him to be more concentrated once he make promises. Sometimes he will succeed sometimes he will fail. But with his age in cricket, his success rate (in fulfilling the promises) is going to rise.....we, the fans, specially BD fans, feels that making promises is a big mouth thing....but we never try to think may be that is a way of easing pressure...Also, he aint no Ash....he is Tamim and the whole world knows what he can do...

Talking the talk and not walking the walk is what Tamim is all about. Hope that it changes because tomorrow is his last chance to walk the walk.

different players may take pressure off themselves by saying things to the media etc which is alright, like I want to do this or that, however when it comes to making promises I guess one should be careful, because if you can't keep promises, you shouldn't make them

So tamim should have perhaps said what he did in a different manner rather than promise
Either way, bhuri or no bhuri I'm behind him, as supporters we may not like some of their habits etc but our job is to support and that's what I'd like to do.

Go BD

And he was indeed the top scorer in 1st 2 matches.
he got the ability to keep his promises,he got 2 ducks so what?look at his other 3 innings.
He failed so far in all his WC promises.
