Hey everyone! Just heard that our beloved (??!!) BCB President Lotus Kamal is in a meeting/conversation with ICC President Sharad Pawar....wonder what is it about....since no one posted anything in regards to that so thought of starting a new thread

So, any ideas anyone???

The ICC Executive Board will hold its fourth and final scheduled meeting of the year at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Monday 10 October, and among the issues on the agenda are:

Independent Governance Review

At the June meeting in Hong Kong, the ICC Executive Board had confirmed an Independent Governance Review and later appointed Lord Woolf of Barnes as chairman of the review panel. Lord Woolf, who will be supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers, will attend the meeting to provide a progress report.

The independent governance review was identified as one of the most important initiatives in the new Strategic Plan 2011-2015 that was adopted by the Board in April 2011. The scope of the review is wide and includes:

- Clarifying the role and structure of the ICC and its committees to ensure that strategic goals are met effectively and that decision-making is made in the best interests of the game. This would include consideration of independent committee members and directors
- The ICC President nomination and election process
- The Member categories and criteria for membership
- The effectiveness of the regulatory environment
- The Constitutional framework and documents to ensure they are ?fit for purpose?
- Making recommendations to ensure that the ICC enjoys a reputation as a well governed and leading global sporting organisation.

Any meeting is successful as long as Mr. AHM Kamal can get some benefit out of it for himself.

well, shuziburo he has been doing it ever since. No wonder BD team has little/almost NO development

I think Lamisa said it well.Yes our team has developed a bit in last 10 year but our cricket structure and culture has not developed at all.

ঢাকা: আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট কাউন্সিলের (আইসিসি) সহ-সভাপতি পদে নিজেকে ভাবতেই পারেন বিসিবি সভাপতি আ হ ম মোস্তফা কামাল। আইসিসি সভাপতি মনোনয়নে আগের নিয়ম বহাল রাখায় সহ-সভাপতি পদে নির্বাচন করবে বাংলাদেশ এবং পাকিস্তানের প্রতিনিধি।

সভাপতি মনোনয়নে পালাক্রম নিয়ম বহাল রাখায় খুশি হয়েছেন বিসিবি সভাপতি। আইসিসি নির্বাহী কমিটির সভা শেষে দুবাই থেকে মঙ্গলবার দেশে ফিরে কামাল বাংলানিজকে বলেন,“আগের নিয়ম বহাল রাখায় আইসিসিকে ধন্যবাদ। এর ফলে অনেকে পালাক্রমে আইসিসির সভাপতি হতে পারবেন।”

২০১১ সালের ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে আইসিসিতে প্রার্থীর নাম দিতে হবে। বিসিবি থেকে তার আগেই প্রার্থী চূড়ান্ত করা হবে বলে জানান মোস্তফা কামাল। তিনি বলেন,“হাতে সময় আছে। সুবিধাজনক সময়ে নির্বাহী কমিটির সভা ডেকে আমার প্রার্থী হওয়ার অনুমোদন নিতে হবে।”

মোস্তফা কামাল ধরেই নিয়েছেন আইসিসি সহ-সভাপতি পদের জন্য তাকে প্রার্থী করবে বিসিবি। তার মতে,“আমার বিশ্বাস বোর্ডের অনুমোদন পেতে সমস্যা হবে না। ক্রিকেটের জন্য যা ভালো হবে সরকারও সে পথেই যাবে।”

জুনে হংকংয়ে আইসিসির বার্ষিক সভায় প্রস্তাব করা হয় প্রতিষ্ঠানটির সভাপতি গোপন ভোটে নির্বাচিত করার জন্য। আলোচনা সাপেক্ষে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার শর্তজুড়ে প্রস্তাবের পক্ষে ভোট দেন বাংলাদেশের প্রতিনিধি বিসিবি সভাপতি মোস্তফা কামাল। বাংলাদেশের প্রস্তাবকে সমর্থন দেয় তিনটি দেশ। দুবাইয়ে আইসিসির প্রধান কার্যালয়ে নির্বাহী কমিটির সভায় ওই প্রস্তাবের ওপর আলোচনার পর আগের নিয়ম বহাল রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়।

Yep! That will be interesting in 2014, but nevertheless, if he still manages to get elected...then he must change the FTP and make Australia/India/SA/England play with BD more.....

But ICC is planning to detach Cricket Board from its Government. May be all boards will become independent by 2014 and i am sure a clever man like loitta has already worked it out.

Loitta hole hoito BD-er bhalo hote pare...more FTP fixtures with India/Aus/SA/Eng/NZ/SL....but I personally prefer Saber Hossain morethan that of him....but alas! That cannot be possible
