No way..........
Anamul is still very young and no way he should be tried in the toughest batting slot against a competitive side.
Dont know why you guys think Opening is that easy. It was never easy opening when u are chasing 290. By the looks of it, looks like Tamim was told to stay longer and Nazim was told to have a go. He couldnt... thats it
Naz-Tamim combo is a very good one and it deserves more chance. If Nazim gets dropped, he should replace by one of Jahirul, Imrul, Imrose, Ash... NOT a rookie. I see Anamul getting his debut ideally against Zimbabwe later this year. And Anamul should be play lower down the order for the start....... Nazim is a good batsman and he will shine soon

As much as I want Anamul to open with Tamim, but I think it is best to give Nazimuddin to play the full series. There will be more instances later this year when Anamul will be suitable to debut, but at least give some time for Nazim to adjust to the national team.

well nazimuddin hasn't been impressive, should we give him a few more games? i'm not sure i haven't seen him since he was first in the team years ago but by the sounds fo it his footwork is just as bad as it was back then and that was his major weakness.
some guys are ready are ready or at least mentally tough at 19 for international cricket, anamul has been on the radar for a long time, he has performed quite well in most formats and levels as he has moved on and up through the system.
but for those bringing up averages, anamul doesn't have a very good list A average anyway......not saying he shouldn't be given a chance but we can't fault nazimuddin on average when anamul who would be his replacement has one as bad if not worse at the domestic level....
btw i am a big believer in anamul.

Nazimuddin should get some chances. Imrul will have to do something spectactular to earn his place back, because he doesn't have the talent to warrant a comeback on a short display of form. I would give talented batsman (like Ash) that benefit.
That being said, Ash must prove himself beyond a T20 league to earn a place back in this squad. And right now the only spot open is the other opener spot. And Anamul is probably ahead of him in the pecking order for that. Ideally though I'd like to slot Anamul into the middle order somewhere.

Imrul is a much more solid player than Nizamuddin. Where is Junaid?

I disagree with this idea of shifting players around so soon. Give Nazimuddin a go 'til at least the end of this series. Anamul is there to learn for now, and to be honest, he isn't quite needed yet.

that will be unfair to Nazim, besides he is capable of giving us a flying start, he played a poor shot in the last game, let's see if tomorrow he comes with a better plan.
U need to give enough games to a player not only to improve but also to see if the player is capable of learning from his mistakes.

Three similar threads debating who should partner TI as opener has been merged. Night_wolf, thanks for giving me the ids of the three. So the discussion history might seem weird because of the merge.

No change please. Give his fair share. The whole series. With Tamim playing in a new way, we need someone who can score in a brisk. If he fails in next 1/2 matches then zee should be recalled. And leave Jaharul @3. Anamul is too risky and raw. Need more time.

I say give Nazimuddin the full series. If he doesn't score a 50 in the tournament though then I say drop him for good for the T20I/ODI team and have him play just Tests. By next series, we should give Anamul a go if Nazim doesn't perform. I do believe though that Anamul is a potential world class batsman while Nazim and Imrul are more stop gap players. We'll see though. Time will tell.

Even if we cry now, team management will not change the winning combination. Unless extremely necessary due to any injury/match conditions.
I doubt, some of the players might come with the same gears or even the unwashed *ndies... To keep the luck going the same way... forget aout changing players...

Even though Nazim got out playing an unnecessary shot against India. But the class he showed against Pak. I hope he can show it again against SL. But I also do believe Anamul can be given a chance. I mean if Nazimuddin eventually doesn't get picked in the final XI against SL. Then I think Anamul can come in place of him or maybe Kayes. Though I'd prefer a left & right hand opening pair.

Shahadat must be rested against Sri Lanka. Or, Dilsha will kill him!

Let the guy have a full series or 2 then start to bash him. Do keep in mind that his avg is 9 because of his past exposers in ODI where he knew nothing but to SLOG like AFTAB ahmed. Remember?
If you ask me, since then he matured a LOT!!!

Id have nazimuddin still in the team. He should try to play on the ground and ensure that he and tamim have a 100+ century stand
If nazimudding fails yet again then may as well try out anamul or even kayes against Pakistan if we qualify

It is too soon to try Amanul. He is a talented kid and probably has a bright future. But, let's not destroy his future by exposing him too early to the international competition. Everyone is not Shakib.
Shakib needs to bowl more tightly. When he bowls well, he creates opportunity for other bowlers.
Shahadat should go and Nazmul should be in. Otherwise, the same team should play.

Someone should tell Nazimuddin that he doesn't need to close his eyes and hit every single ball out of the park. He has at least 50 overs to play in an ODI.

I'd still give Nazimuddin a few games now that we've picked him. If he fails, there's always Imrul Payesh orfe KaEdge to fall back on. We really don't have anyone else who is more capable than these two, which may be a good thing or a sad thing. Imrul, albeit all his limitations, has had a great DPL and a good couple of games against the England Lions.
Anamul can wait.

What Nazimuddin should do is to stop panicking once he plays out some dot balls. Even if your not scoring, just fight through it and runs will come once you get your eye in. This pitch is very easy to bat on once you get used it. So he shouldn't force the issue.

Problem with Nazimuddin is, his technique is poor, Hardly has any footwork. As a result it would be very difficult for him to be a consistent performer especially in the opening positon. He will have some sporadic success because of fielding restriction, new ball etc but he is never a long term solution.
The question is whether we should debut Anamul in this all important match or gamble with Nazim. I will go with Anamul but he should be told to play his natural game without any expectation just like Tamim was told to play his natural game in 2007 world cup against India without any expectation to perform big, according to Habibul Bashar.

Poor technique or not, now that he is there in the national team, we should stick with him a little longer and let him prove us right or wrong.

Nazim deserves the full series....it's too early to say anything about Anamul right now. There will always be a chance to let him play for the national team later, but for now Nazim should play for the whole series.
