Go England! France the outright favourites but Hodgson's picked a good XI here given the constraints. Thankfully no Carroll.

Terry and Cole! Two of the best in the business in their positions. Oxlade-Chamberlain is a future England superstar. And how good is Joe Hart? Only Casillas comes to mind who's substantially better. He's as good as anyone else right now.

England is up there defensively with any other team in the tournament. And that's without first-choice guys like Cahill, Walker and Smalling.

England good at counter-attack!!! they should go for the win... or if they are wanting a draw, we might end up losing this... just play to win.

As expected...France dominated the middle of the pitch, had close to 60% of the possession...but didn't do too much with it. England with a deserved draw, and will be the happier of the sides.

Qualification for the next round is still definitely on.

Draw, a fair result in the end. Thought England played well in the first half, Milner should have scored, great chance missed!

Shevchenko is playing inspired soccer. Ukraine will go far in this tournament.

They were sitting way too deep. Parle toh pentaly box er vitorei 10 jon boisha thaakto. I know it's effective but it makes viewing as painful as watching rockibul bat.

Arey bhai...it's the best England can do.

Everyone knows what this England team needed was

Carrick and Scholes - Scholesy to play the quarterback role, he is a player Xavi has praised for over a decade yet the England hierarchy forced him to play on the left to accommodate Gerrard and Lampard.

He is at the end of his career now, and can't play 90 minutes on a consistent basis, but he could have easily played 60 minutes a pop, and then been subbed off. As for Carrick, he is by conservative estimates, a million times better than Parker and Gareth Barry, yet was overlooked.

So he finally had enough and said, if there is no chance of me playing, I don't want to be considered, Hodgson decided Carrick wasn't one of the top 4 english midfielders and left him out.

So this is as good as it'll get for England. Contain and then try to hit teams on the counter + set pieces. Having said all that, it should be better against Sweden(who England never seem to beat) and Ukraine. Should be much more attacking.

I dont see Ukraine winning another match in the group stage, Sweden made a mockery of themselves on the pitch. They were outplayed by Ukraine the whole 90'.

only cahill is a first choice from those 3, England actually have 3 of their 4 first choice defenders playing

Gary Cahill is 1st choice only because Hodgson and the FA decided to side with John Terry the racist scum.

Rio was captain during the WC in 2010, and was in the team during the Euro qualifiers(when fit), but then got excluded because Hodgson was too chicken **** to upset Fat Lampard and Cashley Cole.

But I'm ok with Lescott starting, he had an immense season for City.
