Default Who Should Play the Tour Match?

The 3-day tour match begins on Nov 8. Should we pick all seamers to throw the WI off? Should we bench all SLAs? Should we pick all national teamers?

I think it would be overkill and perhaps unsporting if we picked all seamers. However, since we will be playing at least two SLAs, I'd not pick any for the tour match. I would only pick players who have no shot at getting picked for the actual Test series, so the WI camp can't do any scouting up close on the even of the series.

1) Fazle Rabbi
2) Nafees Iqbal
3) Asif Ahmed
4) Farhad Hossain
5) Hom
6) Dhiman
7) Alauddin Babu
8) Nur Hossain
9) Al Amin Hossain
10) Abu Jayed/Abu Haider/KI Rabbi/Syed Rasel
11) Taskin Ahmed

I've left out Soumya, Anamul, Gazi, and Mominul because I've picked them in my Test squad.

Anamul and Mominul should play, even though if they are picked for Test. They need to get the taste of WI attack.

I will play all pace bowlers. It is a good chance to test our bench strength also as far as pace bowlers are concerned.

Follow what India did for the upcoming England practice matches.

Bench all spinners and pack it with 4 fast bowlers.

fazle rabbi and SS are a tempting opening combination though NI would add some experience. asif ahmed and farhad are good choices to as is hom though there is a good chance anamul and mominl could play this match. dhiman is an easy choice as the keeper, alauddin babu is a good choice, not sure on the spinner nur isn't bad but there are a lot of spinners they could pick for this. abu jayed, al amin and taskin are good choices for pacers, though there is also sajidul, the 2 kamrul's, subashis.

it is a good selection Kriterion Brother, the professional countries usually play their weakest XI on tour matches...

I would play 7 batsmen, 1 Offspinner, 1 legspinner, 2 pacers. This will give us good information on how they adjust on our spinners. No point packing with 4 pacers. We don't have that many good pacers, rather give the batsmen a go and face their spinners and pacers..

thought sajidul was in one of the squads for the NCL this season....also tasamul and marshall are good picks. why would i pick emon ahmed or saju dutt? at one time they were prospects, but that's as far as i go when i mention them, they were prospects but now they're nowhere to be seen and have done basically nothing.

They might end up playing a weaker team since the NCL matches will be taking place while this match is being played. I'm not sure if the divisional teams will want to have their best players playing in this practice match. So I won't be surprised if its a random team we'll end up seeing.

Play all pacers and no spinners, on a flat batting pitch with no turn whatsoever.

If the Kohli allegation of the ECB giving India flat decks and 120 kmp trundlers in practice matches and the BCCI retaliate by not naming any spinners in the tour game, than sportsmanship has taken a serious blow. This is a shameful precedent and I don't think we should follow suit unless it starts happening to us. This renders tour matches meaningless and harms both the touring side and the home team who can't get the best exposure for that rising starts.

I also do not agree with giving the visiting NZ sides match practice on the center wicket. That is equally unsportmanslike, IMO.

If all other teams start fielding "front" squads and conditions during tour matches, than I will reluctantly join but I think this an ugly precedent being set by the powers that be. ECB, CA, and BCCI are just using and abusing world cricket.

send in as many bowlers as possible of different variation and see what type affects who and plan the actual tests according to that

I would drop either Riyad or Jahurul from the tour match. It's difficult to pick the batting order considering there's so many top order batsman.

1. Nazimuddin
2. Junaid
3. Nafees
4. Anamul
5. Mominul
6. Jahurul
7. Mushy
8. Shafiul
9. Taskin
10. Enamul
11. Al Amin
