I don't think the dailies will get a confirmation of line up so early...line up will be declared on the match day, isn't it? It should be their assumption...

Don't the team management understand this? I'm hope full, they will do exactly the same.

May not be... I feel, one of Mullah/Nasir/SN will sit out......for Sunny..

We are going overboard with this Gayle obsession. And yes looks like Shohag is bound to play. Let's hope the punt on Rubel's fitness pays off. And Shohag, if nothing else will be expected to keep one end tied up.

A major mistake not picking Sunny IMO.
Drop either Nafees/Mullah/Zunaid and pick up Sunny - still have time to correct the error!

Here is the problem in our thought process. If they were ready to go with 3 pacers ... Now if there is no grass on pitch and they think spinners will rule, why can't they go with 3 spinners?? Don't they understand the difference between Sunny and Mullah, Nasir, Nayeem all 3 put together?? Such nonsense. Their mindset is still ODI/T20...
They make team, not to win, but to show we have scored so much...so no chance, fill up with batsman, if by chance some of them make some runs...that can save their Axx..

As per the pitch report, if its a turning wicket, there may be no centuries at all in first test match...likely to be a low scoring match and then it's bound to finish by max 4 days...

Hasn't this pitch favoured pacers more than spinners this season? If this is what they suspected then I can see the reasoning behind picking Shahadat, Rubel, Shakib, Sohag and Riyad as the bowlers. No point picking an army of spinners then finding that the pitch isn't all that helpful to spin.
Also I would have preferred Nazmul Hossain over Rubel but that was never likely to happen given the way Nazmul was treated in the past.
I think the new ball will swing and the top order batsmen are going to be truly tested by the WI pacers and if they are not on their A game then this could be over in 4 days.

Naeem, Riyad and Nasir all* in the same team?
Riyad's in coz he's the VC.
Nasir had been promising for a while.
And Naeem has been good recently.
Tough to drop any of them, but having Sunny would've added depth.
* Add to that Shohag Gazi playing, now we have four players of similar mould!!! Lol, let's hope it works out.

Sunny should be in and so should gazi, honestly there's no point of batting to 8, I think gazi is a capable enough bat to play at 8 so we bat mushy at 7 and make our top 6 out of the remaining batsmen in the squad.

2 hours to go! Good luck Bangladesh!
The team I'd play:
Tamim
Siddique
Nafees
Naeem
Nasir
Shakib
Rahim
Mahmudullah
Sunny
Shahadat
Rubel
On a personal level I'd like to see Shafiul come back into the team soon. Looks the best pace prospect coming out of Bangladesh at the moment.

Worry about your exam! Remember this is a Test match. So you'll get to worry about the next 3- 4 days after today.

Must play two specialist spinners. We can't expect Shak to carry the kind of workload he did before because of his knee problems. Mahmudullah naeem nasir wouldn't pose any problems at test level either with their bowling. Shohag, sunny, shahadat, rubel and shakib could probably take the 20 wkts we need.
