Iphone related issues and solutions, and normal opinions welcomed.

I have an issue, I had topped up £10 one day ago and the Balance now is around £6. I am very confused as to why I have been charged so much so Dialled customers service and they said GPS charge, did not understand. any help would be welcome, thanks.

What is your budget for a month.

With £15 top up you will get 500 mb browsing+data. Just visit one of the well known phone place or visit the website of your network. And look for Sim only price plans.

I am not on line-rental, pay as you go. I just top up when my credit runs out.

I think he opened another thread which had operators name but the thread got deleted possibly because it seemed ms was advertising for the operator.

MohammedC and Nadim answered my question on the other thread that I opened and I requested the thread to be deleted. I opened this thread as it could be helpful for other people also, if they have similar issues or likes to share things about Iphone.

Does anyone know why the operators charge and do they charge even if you use Wifi internet from home or at university? thanks

Just turn off your GPS and use it when you need it, if GPS is what eating up your data. Much easier to do on Android phones, but doable on iOS as well.

Jailbreak it if you need more options than what you are getting.

Most of the things you have said is useful. however I am not sure how you do this kind of things. I turned off my mobile data. My friend told me to try to turn the 3G off, but I worried if it has any affects. in addition what do you mean by Jailbreak?

You do not need to turn off mobile data. That will turn off everything such as web browsing, iMessage and all. The last IPhone I used was over a year ago and it was iOS5, so not sure how it is right now. Google it about how to turn off location services for all the apps.

What jailbreaking does is remove many of the restrictions on your phone imposed by apple. If you are in the US, it is perfectly legal and reversible, so no harm in doing it. (I don't know about other countries, if it is not legal in your country, I would recommend not doing it). Again search Google.

The process of doing it is a bit technical and you will have to follow a step by step instruction. try jailbreakme or redsn0w on google and you should have what you need. However, for your purpose jailbreaking would probably not be helpful (I am not keeping up with these since I don't have an IPhone anymore).

I don't know whether turning off location services will help. Can be found under privacy.

I used the internet from Iphone by university wifi and seems like not being charged. I am not sure so have to wait until tommorrow to check if they charge a restricted amount on daily. Rubu bro I turned off mobile data and the internet works?

WiFi works even if you leave it on airplane mode.

No I think choudhury assumed you know everything.

You will not be charged for using wi fi. But u have to make sure if there is no WiFi the phone doesn't switch itself to 3g 4g basically start using data from our carrier.

you can just download free games. if you want paid games for free then you have to jailbreak it and get installous. I won't recommend it just for some free apps. If you can, then get appgratis -- they give one free app a day.

does anyone know if the app Siri works on Iphone 4?

One of my mate got Siri in his Iphone5 and its really nice.

Siri works on 4S and 5. In iph5, Siri also knows if your partner is cheating on you or not. My friend said something like "is my wife cheating on me?" and it said yes.
