They're narrow minded that's why they don't want the tournament be 16 teams. This kind of thinking is the reason cricket will remain behind sports such as soccer, basketball, rugby, hockey etc.

Why didn't they just throw in bangladesh and zimbabwe in this tournament and let the top 2 play in the main world cup. These teams will just be playing each other again in another qualifier. Don't even see the point of having the so called group stage in the world cup.

During our ICC era, tell me how many times we got chance to play international matches against top teams besides asia cup? Today IRE and AFG get more exposure, more cricket. Every other day afg are playing either ire or scotland, we didnt have that luxury. And everytime we played asia cup , we had to qualify for that.Comparing todays IRE/AFG with ICC era BAN is not right, its not apple to apple. I never knew back then SL were our main opponent, thought ZIM were. As far as my memory serve, we never face them to qualify for WC. It was ZIM.

These Irish boys are up for it. They want to watch us squeal at home. I can't wait for us to teach them a lesson.

IRE might be strong but I personally do not think they can beat us in our own backyard. As far as I remember they could not beat us in our own backyard.

It's T20, anything can happen. Let's not forget the a** whooping they gave us in the T20 WC.

I clearly said "in out own backyard".
Again we beat SA also, but does it mean SA should be afraid of us everytime they face us especially in SA soil? You should be cautious but not afraid. And if we can get positive result when SL tour, I am sure we will become unstoppable. Anything can happen in t20 but within realistic limit. Otherwise IRE would be T20 champion by now, but did not happen. If you compare ranking, BD havr played all their T20 games against stronger teams, where as IRE and AFG never played against top nations, except among themselves. Do you think this ranking is correct?

Looks like Ireland, Netherlands and Afghanistan will qualify, along with Hong Kong and UAE. There go our chances of qualifying for the main event.

Have faith bruh. We are totally going to beat these guys as well as so called top eight. The cup is ours baby. The Irish or the future English 11 are no match in our home ground. The Afghans are still trying to figure out what Cricket is and don't get me started on the other two. In fact, this world cup is a little too easy for us. We might have to rest Mushy, Nasir along with Shak and Tamim. I say we let the ICL losers get us the cup. It's the least they can do.

This is t20 picnic cricket and not ODIs where we are world class in our own backyard so anything can happen. Infact we suck in t20s. I'll be happy if we just get through the qualifying phase initially and then start to dream.

Not sure about all but pretty sure that the qualifier champion (Ireland?) will be in Zimbabwe's group and we'll have the runners up (Afghans?) in ours. Remember reading it somewhere.

Looks like Scotland might rob Nepal off that 3rd place if Kenya lose their last match. They have piled on 205 against Denmark and a huge victory could possibly take their nrr past Nepal!

Namibia only scored 125 v Uganda. If Uganda can pull this chase off, it'd be the 2nd biggest upset in the tournament so far. It would also mean UAE go through.

this is the tournament format
Quote:
Tournament Format
According to the tournament format, the sides that will top the two groups at the conclusion of the group stages will automatically qualify for Bangladesh 2014 without having to make the final of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2013.
Meanwhile, the sides that finish second and third in the two groups will play cross-over matches to be played at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 27 November in a double-header. The two winners will also progress to the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2014.
The sides that finish fourth and fifth in the two groups will also play cross-over matches, to be played at Abu Dhabi Oval 1 and Oval 2 respectively. The winners of these two matches will then play the losers of the second v third cross-over fixtures; the victors of these matches will then also progress into the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014.

so even if Nepal can't finish 3rd it isn't all over for them

This guy Matt Machan is the leading run scorer in ICC WC T20 2014 Qualifier
He was born in sussex, even his cricinfo profile says he is England player http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-worl...er/297488.html
I just dont get this British system, Irish plays for England, British plays for Scotland
why cant they drop all these confusion and just play as UK?
