Focus on World T20 Qualifying Round
Asia Cup is done and dusted. We need to get moving. World T20 is very important and we should not be relaxed in the qualifying round.
Nasir should be in the team. Primarily because I think he will be difficult to play for the associates.

Timely thread. I'm not even bothered Asia cup was a good ride we never been a good t20 side but seem to have suddenly found a new leaf in the T20 format. But let's go forward.
Cholo Bangladesh

High altitude acclimation will be key.

Matches will be more tough than @ home. Different conditions, different ground. Not having a good feeling about this round.

Green tracks part of Bangladesh prep for World T20 matches in Dharamsala
Quote:
Bangladesh head straight to Dharamsala following the Asia Cup. There they will play all of their qualifying games. Traditionally, Dharamsala is known for its bouncy and fast wicket. According to a senior official in the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the idea was to help the pacers in the side prepare themselves ahead of the crucial qualifying rounds.
“We play our first game, March 9, just three days after the final. We knew there would hardly be any time to test our players, and so the thought was to prepare tracks that would help the bowlers,” the official said on condition of anonymity.
However, after the widespread criticism, even from within the BCB, the wickets in the latter part of the tournament looked to have had the green cover removed.
Bangladesh in the past year have changed their focus from spin to pace. Under coach Chandika Hathurusingha and bowling coach Heath Streak, the focus has been on grooming young pace bowlers.

No has mentioned mustaf will be back. For all Al Amins success in t20s, he bowls some garbage at the death, most sometimes. Mustafiz our true death bowler, on wickets that grips he will be unplayable.

Wicket will not be gripping but he's still the best bowler at death (and one of the best in the World).

It will benefit us more than other teams in the group as our batsman aren't great in bowling friendly pitches. Our bowlers are skilful (thanks to Musta, Amin and Taskin) to do well at the death regardless of the condition so FLAT pitch will blessing in disguise for us imho

And other teams in the group bat well in bowling friendly conditions?

Tigers head for India today
Quote:
They are scheduled to reach Delhi by noon and from there they will board a chartered flight to Dharamsala, where they will play their first World Cup game against the Netherlands on March 9. On March 11 they will face Ireland and on March 13 they will take on Oman. For the Tigers to proceed to the Super 10 they will need to finish on top of the group.
The talking point prior to their departure for the World Cup has been Mustafizur Rahman's fitness concerns. The pace bowler suffered a side strain during the Sri Lanka game in the Asia Cup and as a result was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
However, the good news is that the pacer is doing a lot better than he initially was. According to the team physio, his pain had decreased by a huge margin and the team management is confident that the bowler can take part in the competition from the first game.
That will come as a relief for most Bangladesh fans as many feared that the left-armer would take at least two weeks to recover. However, as per the current scenario, the bowler is likely to be fit to play the Netherlands game.
With the team scheduled to reach Dharamsala today evening, they will have an entire day to get accustomed to the slightly chilly conditions there. The practice matches that have already taken place there indicated that there was a bit of grass on the wickets, which is something that the Tigers will have to be prepared for.

"The other night was sort of nice for bowling," Murtagh said. "The ball swung around under the floodlights, and our first two games in the tournament are under lights, so I think it will do a little bit more through the air in those matches.
"Against Zimbabwe in the daytime it didn't quite do as much. We are playing on pretty good wickets but when the lights come on and the dew comes, the ball starts to skid on quite nicely to the bat. I think there's going to be some pretty exciting games to come."

Keep in mind Chaminda Vaas is bowling coach for Ireland this tournament, so swing will very likely be a threat for us.

I would let Mustafiz sit out the matches against Netherlands and Oman, rest of the team should be able to pull of those wins. Use him only against Ireland, and hopefully he will fully recover by the match against Pakistan (March 16).

Fortunately its not Ireland the first game. Hopefully the game against Netherlands will help us adjust to conditions.

Someone has already pointed it out in this forum, swing is related to the conditions/weather. It will swing more from Friday as it will start to rain. Forecast is not as good as other part of the world, so it could be a day or two early or late. If it's rainy/cloudy, there won't be any dew either.

The problem is that if it rains against associates then they will have advantage in curtailed version. If our fate in playing the main rounds depends on 10 overs a side match, we are doomed.

Seen some pictures. Boys looked like already forgot about Asia cup final and looked happy taking selfies after landing in Dhramshala. Good to see they are still in joyous mindset reaching asia cup final alone in this format is a big win for us. People have to remember its t20 format not ODI And we have to have expectations a bit low/grounded in this format and don't expect too much.
I'm glad the plays look fresh focused on the task ahead. We must keep moving forward lots of work to be done, ahead.
