Kohli is making excellent bowlin gn changes and management of bowlers. He's not giving Ashwin as many overs as one may have think...saving him for the second innings of the Windies...which may come sooner....the pacers are doing a fantastic job.

Shami and umesh 4 wickets apiece. They have been doing the opposite of what the West Indian fast bowlers were doing...they're bending their backs and putting in the effort...Kohli giving them freedom..ohh and Saha with 6 dismissals behind the wicket.

Yeah, you're right. The centurion in the 1st tour match, Shai Hope isn't playing on this test match.

Darren Bravo crossed 3000 runs while batting in this second innings.
Bravo got there in 78 innings, while Kohli reached 3000 in his 73rd inning.

Samuels and Chandrika building a partnership...just crossed 50. Samuels is in attacking mood, while Rajendra has been all defense..with the odd bad ball heading to the ropes. Bat on guys...till the cows come home.

India on the verge of wrapping up this match..7 down for WI.
Ashwin and his spin partner, mishra have combined for 5 of them.

Bishoo just past his highest score, on 32* and Carlos on 38*, have added 69 runs for the 9th wicket going in for tea. Delaying the inevitable.

Done and dusted. India win big, by an innings and more.
Ashwin, 6th best inning figure by an Indian bowler vs west indies...gaining valuable points in the rankings.
West Indies, will need to rope in a genuine fast bowler to aid Shannon Gabriel...the pace of holder and Carlos was chicken feed to the Indian batsmen...and change in the top order.
All three of India's pacers were excellent. They might go with the same side in the next match...ohh i almost forget that Murali Vijay nursing an injury...so another of Indian promising young batsman in the form of Lokesh Rahul will be playing in murali's place...
Next test match in 6 days at Sabina Park in Jamaica

India was strong in all departments. Very impressive performance by them. Their play did the talking. Nothing much else to add.
Disappointing on the other hand for the WI. Firstly, poor selection. Despite Shai Hope scoring a century in the tour match yet Chandrika who has scored just 1 century and averages 25 in FC's gets the nod? Then as Aklemalp said, no fast bowler to aid Gabriel. Cummins should've played over Chase. Finally, very poor mental effort from them. They looked as though they gave up once Kohli punced on them.
The young WI team has to be tougher mentally or else it'll be a long series for them

The defensive mindset by the west Indies top order in both innings prompted the Indian bowlers to strangle the life out of them. It was disappointing.

Bowling too. Too much reliance on the spinners. Look at how much Kohli backed his pacers on the other hand

Goes to show the lack of initiative from captain holder. He over bowled Bishoo, and himself was bowling treats to the Indian batsmen.

Holder has the potential to be a good captain but he still has a lot to learn

Bro, Holder is in the same category of captains as Mushfiqur is..they over worked their bowlers. Set defensive fields. Lack of leadership.
Anyone who who is interested in becoming a captain should look to the blueprint of the best captain of the game in the last 3-4 years - Brendan McCullum

Alzarri Joseph added to the squad, hope he plays, I wish ronsford Beaton had been introduced a few years ago but although he's still young I fear it may already be too late for him.

Joseph is probably one of the most exciting young quicks in the world today. But is he being brought too soon?

I think he's the best they've got atm and I think he's the type that will become better by more international experience early, otherwise he might go backwards like Beaton if he's left in regionals.

Too soon? West Indies need pacers ASAP, he fits the mold. One of his cricketing hero is Dale Steyn...I think it is a good move. Exposure to the best batsman in the world and huge morale booster.
An Antiguan, I hope he follows in the footsteps of fellow countryman, the great Sir Courtly Ambrose.

The Sabina Park pitch is expected to be green and bouncy.
I really hope WI bring in the 2 pacers to accompany Shannon Gabriel.
