১৯৮৬ সাল থেকে ওয়ানডে অভিষেকের পর ৩১ শে ডিসেম্বর ২০০৪ পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশ দল খেলেছে ১০১ টি ওয়ানডে ম্যাচ। কিন্তু এই ১০১ টি ওয়ানডের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ জয় পেয়েছে মাত্র ৬ টি ম্যাচে।

তাহলে ২০০৪ সাল পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে সফল ক্রিকেটার কে ছিলেন??

পরিসংখ্যান বলছে সবচেয়ে সফল ছিলেন খালেদ মাহমুদ সুজন।
এসময়ে সবচেয়ে বেশি উইকেট নিয়েছিলেন খালেদ মাহমুদ ও মোহাম্মদ রফিক। খালেদ মাহমুদ নিয়েছিলেন ৪২ গড়ে ৬৮ ম্যাচে ৬০ উইকেট এবং রফিক নিয়েছিলেন ৪৫ গড়ে ৭১ ম্যাচে ৬০ উইকেট।

তখন খালেদ মাহমুদ ব্যাট হাতে ছিলেন বাংলাদেশের ৪র্থ সর্বোচ্চ রান সংগ্রহকারী, করেছিলেন ৬৮ ম্যাচে ৮৮৯ রান এবং বল হাতে ছিলেন সর্বোচ্চ উইকেট শিকারী। ফিল্ডার হিসেবে ৩য় সর্বোচ্চ ক্যাচও খালেদ মাহমুদ ধরেছিলেন। এমনকি ২০০+ রান নেয়া ব্যাটসম্যানদের মধ্যে তখন ২য় সর্বোচ্চ ৬৬.৬৪ স্ট্রাইকরেট ছিল খালেদ মাহমুদের। ২০০৪ সাল পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশের জয় পাওয়া ৬ টি ওয়ানডে ম্যাচেই একাদশে ছিলেন মাত্র ২ জন ক্রিকেটার। তারা হলেন খালেদ মাহমুদ সুজন ও খালেদ মাসুদ।

বাংলাদেশের জয় পাওয়া সেই ৬ ম্যাচের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে বড় জয় ছিল '৯৯ বিশ্বকাপে পাকিস্তানের বিপক্ষে জয়। সেই জয়ের মাধ্যমেই বাংলাদেশের টেস্ট স্ট্যাটাস পাওয়ার দাবি আরও জোরাল হয়েছিল। সেই ম্যাচের নায়ক ছিলেন খালেদ মাহমুদ সুজন। একাই ধসিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন পাকিস্তানের ব্যাটিং লাইনআপ।

বাংলাদেশের জান যদি সাকিব আল হাসান হয়ে থাকেন, তাহলে একসময় বাংলাদেশের ডন খালেদ মাহমুদ সুজন ছিলেন। আজ ওনার জন্মদিন। জন্মদিনের অনেক অনেক শুভেচ্ছা রইল। বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের

I remembered him from the 2003 CWC. I think he took a few wickets with his military medium pace.

I'm happy that he is still involved with Bangladesh cricket.

He averaged 14.33. 28th till Dec 2004. Don (Bradman) of BD.
One 50 score on the Dot. Even Javed Omer had 6 of them with 30 less innings.

As for Bowling, Econ was 5+, 42 Avg, SR 50+.

Your facts are true but that doesn't mean mine are false. And Javed was a pure batsman and Sujon was military pace charismatic alrounder. So please

Why are you taking it personally? I clearly mentioned @ the Article.

By the way, anyone who averages under 15 with the bat is not an alrounder. Doesn't matter if he occupies an alrounder position or not. Alrounder definition, one should have a higher batting average than his bowling average.

In BD context and during that time, that is very difficult. We had none. Sujon can be labeled as useful lower order batsman. So can be Mo Rafique. Rajin, Rana are among the others who has much better stats than the 14 average.

Malcolm Marshal use to average almost 19 runs in test cricket and he is not considered as an alrounder. His bowling average was 20.

No one cares how many more runs Sanga, Mahela, Cook, Waugh, Ponting, Border, Lara made then DON BRADMAN. It is the average that every measures.
