I think like some other BD players Faisal will do well in this series because it is his first!

Rana performed at his best during last couple of series but if you want to choose (among Rana and Faisal) one as a batsman only I think Faisal (given his form in last year with the bat) is better option.

The team of 1st test has 3 bowlers (Taposh, Tareq, Rafique) and 1 allrounder (Musfiq). Usually teams select at least 4 bowlers and a alrounder for a test. So we are already 1 bowler sort and if we choose Rana for Faisal our batting will be weak (assuming Faisal is better batsman than Rana) but we will get little improvement in bowling.

Another option Rana for Musfiq. They are similar type of player and fit the allrounder slot of the team. I think Musfiq got the nod because the pitch suits pace more than spin!

Team management can go either way: try best to get 20 WI wickets (means have a team with 4 bowlers and 1 allrounder) or fight as long as we can do (more batsmen or batting allrounders). Team selection shows they are going for second option and you cannot blame them after the performance of our top order had in this series so far.

You try to win. Always.

One way or another, this match isnt going to be a draw. Bangladesh are going to need variety in their attack, if they are going to take advantage of the West Indies' talent for self destruction.

And, frankly, if 5 batsmen and a keeper who can bat a bit cant get the runs, then 6 wont.

u r right.. test will not draw without the help of the important palyer of the game (rain). How many overs we need to bowl WI out in the first innings? is the main concern. if it is <=100 our 3.5 bowlers will be ok but if it is >=150 overs, we will be in trouble with this selected team.

Lets hope for a 3 and half day test and WI will not score more than 300 in the first innings....
