Rafiq-play ODI only to lengthen career.
Test cricket is too much for the aging body of Rafiq. It'll take years off his ODI career.
By the end of this year when Enamul gets some more experience, we need to start using Rafiq for ODI only.
What do you think?

This is not to say that Rafiq is finished. He is my favorite player and he is still the most important test player in our team.
What I am saying is that for him to give us maximum service we need to save his body as much as possible from to much rigor. He is much older than you think. His daughter on NTV news looked 10-12 years old.

If all the 'IF' works out fine, then may be.
But the real question is, who is going to relay that message to Refique? Faruq, Atahar, Prince or Dav? Bether wear a helmet before going to Rafique's home.

Khan shaheb - ami kichui bhuli nai. I have been repeatedly saying that Rafiq is my favorite player and he is our only only world class player. Some of the thread I had started about him would undoubtedly prove that I am a Rafiq fanatic. We need to save him before his body breaks down. Do you know how hard is it on your joints and muscles when you are past 35. He will most definitely break down soon. We need to protect our national ASSET.
Fazal, you raised the correct question. Biraler golai ghonta badhbe ke? Me, just raising this question, here seems to be getting called Pagol left and right. Can you imagine whats going to happen to the person who raises this on the meeting or who faces Rafiq to request him this.

The decision is up to Rafique and i dont think he will retire from tests. He might retire from ODIs instead.

why are u worrying abt retiring him...? he will retire when he feels like it and when he knows its time... it not the time yet...
and abt his bat-yielding fiasco... lets not comment on that rashly... we dont know what was said to Rafique to tick him off so much... besides it was taken care of. no disciplinary hearing or anything...
hudai chipa diya comment koren ken? Rafique is by far one of the nicest guys BD cricket has ever seen.

However, before we go on to decide (or he decides) which is more suited for him, we must see performances of Enamul Junior and Monjurul Islam Rana on away matches. Because until now, Enamul Junior hasn't yet played any test match outside Bangladesh and Rana is not a regular in the ODI team.

Lol, remember Rafique told that he finds to hit 6 rather than taking singles. Helmet does not work that much if Rafique really use his bats in this situation. And, I love to see that Rafique should use his bats against Faruq, Atahar or Prince (not Dave)

Rafiq will retire when he wants to. Comparing a layman's body with that of a professional athlete's is futile. Rafiq maybe past 35 but he is one of the most physically fit players around. I know Rafiq personally and he has keen cricketing mind. He truely plays for the team, if that wasn't true he would've stuck aroung for his century in the 5th ODI against Zimbabwe instead of swinging his bat all over.
He'll know best when he can no longer take the pressure then make his descision. I would trust him with that. For the moment he's still performing and with all due respect to our youngsters, there is still no one who can replace him. We also need him to be on the field to guide younger players.
