Whats wrong people? There is an important match going on. Why no match-thread??

Anywho, NZ won the toss and elected to field first.

Bond and mason are bowling great. 5.1 overs only 7 runs. However no wicket has fallen that is a good sign for the WI. Their top order mostly Gayle has yet to show some spark in this tournament.

I wonder what is wrong with Chandurpaul? 4 of 25 balls to start with. JO's or Mehrab Jr.'s SR is much better. Spitty and gang any comments?

Here is some more stats for Chandurpaul.
Vs Pak - 19 of 63 balls batting first. SR of 30%
Vs Zim - 21 of 60 balls batting second chasing 203. SR of 35%
Vs Aus - 5 of 12 balls batting second chasing 332. SR of 41%
Vs NZ - 4 of 28 balls batting first. SR of 14%

Averaging 9.75 runs. Hmmm!! How come WI don't replace him? If this was in BD team what would we do? Merab Jr. prime example.

Actually.. go New Zealand !!
If they go the semis.. they have a chance to win against the SA,AUS..WI will have no chance.

hmm! think of BD's chances, lol. We want WI to have some points off from the NZ. So go Gayle and Co. We will take care of WI ourselves Inshallah.

Lara should come first down, he is best at that position. Viv Richards is saying because India is gone there is not that many people coming to watch cricket now (WI vs NZ). Why don't he admit the fact that the ticket price is high and the ground is out in nowhere. The West Indians themselves are not coming to watch WI matches is because India is out?? what a crap, they failed to market the WC effectively and they picked a wrong location for this ground and now trying to find some other excuse for low attendance?

The other reason is to organize the super8 matches indicating who will play whom before the start of the WC and when that schedule went wrong.
Quote:
Skinner, from USA offers his reason for the poor turnout.. "There are many reasons why the crowds are poor. Not least that it depended on whether your team won their "important" group stage game or not as to where they played their super 8 games. We wanted tickets to the super 8 stage and needed to organise accommodation, flights etc well in advance. So we took a gamble on Australia beating South Africa & organised to be in Antigua. If Australia had lost, they would be playing in Guyana....miles away. Pity the poor South Africans who paid a lot of money to be in Antigua only to watch Australia play, not South Africa. Thats my 2 cents worth!"
This is more than 2 cents worth than Viv Ricards explanation.

It was decided long before that Australia would play in Antigua and SA in Guyana, as long both teams qualified for super-8, regardless what was the result in the match between them. Mr Skinner here is just being ignorant.

And this guy just corrected Skinner-

Quote:
Richie Edwards: "Skinner of the US is incorrect. It made no difference whether you won your crucial game or not. The venues were arranged according to seeding not position in the group. So Aus would always be A1 and would always have played at the same ground. If a minnow went through it would take the place of the seeded country that was knocked out."

Samuels out for 9. WI 80/3... at last Gayle is showing some batting.

WI have rested Taylor for this match but put Simmons (who's not a bowler) in his place and not Bradshaw... strange decision. Also Simmons batting averages are not that good... I hope he will prove me wrong anyway.

No wonder Windies was all out for 85 in the warm up match against India, sometimes they can be so laid back and careless !
