Default Second ODI BD v WI - the match culprits

Despite the plays, misses, the edginess, the mistake thanks to WI wicket keepers, Kemar Roach and the Reifer (for his poor innings), we escaped another embarrassment of losing the second ODI against a weakened West Indies team. But if we wouldn't have, whose fault (mainly) would this have been, who escaped the chop from the next match/series, who panicked, who we would have cursed after the match? Your opinion please, purely for a better performance next time.

Actually TAmim and Ash both would have been Bashed if we had lost.. TAmim cause of his wild swings and misses and ASh cause of throwing his wicket away right before the end of the match.. Shakib and baaitta would have been Bashed too.. all of them were panicking really.. poor performance.. just cause its WI, if it was smone like SA or SL or India we would have lost for sure..

There is never 1 player that causes a defeat and if we would have lost this one then I would IMHO blame the whole team for it. We didnt escape embarrassment, rather embarrassment ran away from us. Our batting was very good you will notice that everyone in the top order scored above 20.

Pointless thread. No one can lose a team a match single handedly just like a win can't come riding in one shoulder.

May be Ryad cause he didn't score any & didn't do much with the ball.
Not ASH cause when he got out the match was in our control & we still had Mushy ,Ryad,Naeem & Sakib who was well settled.
Why didn't u add Sakib on that list if he was caught on his 50??

Not pointless at all if you value team performance over a match win.

On the defense of the thread opener, i must have to say, he's got a point.
Yes, we all celebrate the victory and some might consider it as just hiccups, but at the later end of our innings, both teams were trying hard to lose the match, its just that they were better at it than us.

The way some of the players got out and some lucky lifes, we were practically throwing the match away from a winning position. Hadnt it been mindless bowling and fielding by the Caribbeans, we could have found ourselves wondering why.

Had these been any other more established team, they would have tightened the grip and we would have started to panic and panic bad. We have lost games in the past in similar pattern but luckily, we survived this time.

May be we started to come of age and managing to pull it thru, but the old habit dies hard. Losing is also a habit and our boys had a glimpse of recent past. But they were in a fighting sprit and were of winning minds, and so they managed to bring the ship home.

Or may be the Carribeans were so petrified on the prospect of an unlikely upset victory, they could not handle the pressure and we ended up getting the better of them.

Even though the victory is sweet, we should learn from our mistakes and apply ourselves in the next games. Cuz against some tougher opponents, we might find ourselves stranded in the middle of the sea and watch their ship sail away to the shores.

I think thats what the poster wanted to focus. But it didnt come out the sweet way.

So, cut him a slack for once, will ya?
