there has been talk of fawad ahmed being looked at for the ashes. yeah agar seems a decent find, never seen him bowl though, zampa is also a solid one. lyon is still our best though i'd say.

Australia has so much to learn from England. The way English handled Indian spinners was too good.

Lack of quality spinners not just weakens Australia's bowling only, it also means the batters don't get to prepare themselves playing against quality spin.

I have never seen a test wicketkeeper fumble as many times as Wade did behind the wicket in this test match. Haddin is the second best batsman in the country against spin after Clarke and he is in red hot form. Haddin should have been in the team. I understand you have to look towards the future. But you also need to win the current matches otherwise your ranking keeps going down. Haddin is not that old either. He is 35. Hussey and Ponting were still expected to play until the next Ashes at 37 & 38. Hopefully Haddin goes to play Ashes. His experience and leadership quality is needed for such a young team.

Steve O'keefe is the highest wicket taking spinner in this year's Shield and he is a good enough batsman to be considered as an allrounder but the selectors went for Maxwell based on his limited over performance.

kind of expected outcome of the first test but nonetheless well played India, the spinners did really well...

funny comment on cricinfo:
Mark: "OK, so let's ask the more optimistic Australian fans: when should Clarke declare tomorrow? "

Aussies don't have good enough spinners and most of their batsmen can't play spin as well. Overall the team lack experience. Only 3 from the first test squad have played tests in India before.

Australia badly missing Hussey. I hate the Aussie selectors more than our own selector panel for they way they treated Hussey as well as Katich. Clarke alone cannot bail out the top and middle order in this series. Lyon has already been marginalized and Australia do not have the bowlers of Swan or Panesar's caliber to trouble the Indians. They will need magic spells of fast bowling from Pattinson and co to get back into the series now.

Australia's seam attack is not as deadly as it used to be but hey, they can still knock down batting giants on their day...

congratulations to India, played really well.
And why is Dhoni the MoM ?
Why not Ashwin who took 12 out of 20 wickets ?
Why is it always the batsman?
Anyway, I hope Sehwag gets dropped, and IDK if Rehane is in the squad, if he is he should be in.

Australia has a strong team, if India make's a sporting pitch like last time against England, I think Aus has good chance of winning.

Does this convulated analytical description make any sense?
Quote:
2.2
Kumar to Warner, OUT, Bhuvneshwar you ripper, after that leg side rubbish last ball, he comes up with one that changes course sharply, it was going across the left-hander, short of a length, most would have decided to leave that, but then it jags back in, unfortunately for Warner, the line is bang on off, and Warner gets a fatal inside edge
