Who made this clown the captain? This just goes to show you, how much these franchise owner/management know about our cricket. After the way he played last season, I was surprised that actually found a team.

You probably don't know this but when he was in the squad, he used to be called 'professor' due to his immense knowledge and interests in intellect within the dressing room. He was being groomed to become the next captain once before he lost form. He was also recently the Bangladesh A team captain.. Yes, bad performer at the moment but he does have leading capabilities and cricket sense as a captain.

Khulna don't have some quality players to lead the team. I heard they decided Shoaib Malik as their captain but absence of him Shahriar Nafees is the best choice to lead the team.

Well Done on the 100! never thought it would be him though but deserved it because he has played a gem of an innings finding gaps, big shots, lots of running etc etc I think he will definitely be part of our tours to Sri Lanka and especially Zimbabwe where he has a fantastic record against.

I think people are harsh on him, its not his fault he's always in and out of the team and needs to be given a run so he can deliver his scores.

Good innings but he is not national team material anymore. I hope the selectors won't make the mistake of taking him for SL tour just based on 1 innings.

FYI, the bowlers he faced today were Monir Hossain, MM Ali, Naeem Islam jnr, Taijul Islam, BM Edmondson, SM Ervine.

That maybe the case and I agree with you to an extent but he still had to concentrate and get to the 100 regardless of who the bowlers were.

Anyway I’d have him in the T20 team over the superstar Tamim Iqbal, who hasn’t done anything significant in any T20 matches. Don’t forget he played the full 20 overs in the recent T20 match against the West Indies and did he get a hundred? No and yes I agree it also depends on the bowlers. But anyhow well done to Nafees.

yes i agree that scoring 100 requires concentration and skill. It was his day and he played well.

But to compare Tamim and SN??? Tamim had a good NZ tour and was the 6th highest scorer when he left (played only 6 matches), scored 2 50s. Against DG's strong bowling line up, he also scored another 50. What was SN's significant contribution before his 100 today?

You also have to look at form, SN has record like that in the past too, if it is soo easy to score against DR's bowling, then why hasn't anyone from the other teams scored a 100 against them yet, they had the same opportunity that Nafees did with the same lineup, this is the same bowling lineup that defended 99!

Currently Tamim is struggling for any kind of form, but anyways, hope SN will give more good performances and continue his good form if he is selected for BD

I repeat - he played well and deserves the applause and so do you for sticking with him as a fan.

But sorry I can't compare Tamim with SN. The two are miles apart. SN was a good player years ago but now he has just lost it. Look at the way he struggled in tests vs WI. If he scores few more 50s in BPL, then only and only then selectors should consider him for SL tour. Otherwise, there are many more players waiting in the sideline.

I'm not much of a SN fan but I believe TI can learn a lot from watching the way SN's batted today. Also you mentioned TI in New Zealand so if he faced some good bowlers there then the BPL bowlers should not be too much of a problem for him and he should be scoring at least 50 every game.

Minnow Basher? ;-)

Yes DR defended 99 but that was an epic choke by CTG!

Still, well done to Nafees! This is perhaps the hardest format to score a century in.

You're kidding right? He has done jack all in FC tournaments, and yet he has been in tests more consistently than many of the other players. He's not test material, and too many youngsters waiting for a chance in ODI/T20.

Very good innings, but lets keep it real.

Um, you could be consistent against quality bowlers and be crap against crap bowlers. Tamim is leagues ahead of SN in more bowler friendly conditions that it's not even funny. And scoreboard pressure etc. in todays case, obviously.
