I thought CA was offering to play few ODIs as a compensation for not touring last time. This is gonna be a very short tour. And it doesn't allow Bangladesh to play to its strength.

They didn't offer to play ODIs as a compensation, they wanted to play ODIs instead of tests because there is a possibility that matches will be washed out resulting in draws. They also wanted to prepare for their ODI tour in India. However, BCB wanted to stick to the original schedule of two tests.

You need to play more and more tests, you play enough ODIs already, the calmness and resolve that some of your players lack will come only by playing test matches, test match is what separates men from boys, don't underestimate the over all impact of a test match which is far more than your usual Jamodis.

বাংলাদেশ ‘এ’ দলের খেলা নেই বহুদিন। আপাতত জাতীয় দল থেকে বাদ পড়া আর উঠে আসা খেলোয়াড়দের পরীক্ষা করে নেওয়ার মঞ্চ হাই পারফরম্যান্স দল। এনামুল হক, লিটন দাস, আবুল হাসান, মেহেদী মারুফদের উপস্থিতিতে শক্তিশালী একটি হাই পারফরম্যান্স দল অস্ট্রেলিয়া সফর করবে।

প্রধান নির্বাচক মিনহাজুল আবেদীন জানিয়েছেন, অস্ট্রেলিয়া সফরে বাংলাদেশ দল সব ম্যাচ খেলবে ডারউইনে। তিন দিনের ম্যাচের সঙ্গে খেলবে পাঁচটি ওয়ানডে।

“আমরা ১৬ জনের একটা দল দিয়েছি, যারা অস্ট্রেলিয়া যাচ্ছে।… আমরা দুটি জিনিস নিয়ে এখানে কাজ করছি, একটা ইমিডিয়েট রিপ্লেসমেন্ট, আরেকটা ডেভেলপমেন্ট স্কোয়াড। ওই হিসেবেই আমরা খেলোয়াড় দিয়েছি।”

“অভিজ্ঞ কিছু খেলোয়াড়কে ডেকেছি। তার মধ্যে এনামুল হক বিজয় আছে, মেহেদী মারুফ, লিটন দাস, আবুল হাসান আছে। কিছু প্রতিশ্রুতিশীল ক্রিকেটারও আছে। ভালো একটা কম্বিনেশন দাঁড় করিয়েছি। আশা করছি এখান থেকে ভালো একটা ফিডব্যাক পাবো। যেটা আমরা জাতীয় দল, ‘এ’ দলে কাজে লাগাতে পারবো।”

ভেন্যু হিসেবে কেন ডারউইনকে বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে তার ব্যাখ্যা দিলেন সাবেক অধিনায়ক মিনহাজুল।

“অস্ট্রেলিয়ায় যখন মৌসুম শেষ হয় তখন ডারউইনে মৌসুম শুরু হয়। তখন ওখানে অনেক খেলোয়াড় এসে খেলে। ওখান থেকে খেলোয়াড় বাছাই করে একটা দল গড়ে ওরা আমাদের সঙ্গে খেলবে।”

কদিন পরেই অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিপক্ষে টেস্ট সিরিজ খেলবে বাংলাদেশ। এরপর মাশরাফি বিন মুর্তজা-মুশফিকুর রহিম-সাকিব আল হাসানের দল যাবে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা সফরে। সামনে আছে আরও অনেক খেলা। তার আগে কিছু খেলোয়াড়কে দেখে নিতে চান নির্বাচকরা।
“হোমে টেস্ট ম্যাচ আছে। দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় তিন ফরম্যাটের খেলা আছে। বড় সিরিজ আছে ব্যাক টু ব্যাক। সে হিসেব মাথায় রেখেই কিছু খেলোয়াড়কে দেখবো।”

১০ জুলাই জাতীয় দলের ফিটনেস ক্যাম্পের জন্য ২৯ জনের দল দেবেন নির্বাচকরা। অগাস্ট-সেপ্টেম্বরে স্টিভেন স্মিথদের বিপক্ষে দেশের মাটিতে দুটি টেস্ট খেলবে মুশফিকের দল।

“ইমিডিয়েট রিপ্লেসমেন্ট কিছু দরকার আছে (জাতীয়) দলে। ওইগুলো যেন আমরা পরিপূর্ণ করতে পারি। সঙ্গে আগামী ১-২ বছরের মধ্যে আমরা কিছু খেলোয়াড়কে জাতীয় দল, ‘এ’ দলের জন্য চাই।

অস্ট্রেলিয়া সফর থেকে ফিরে কিছু দিন বিশ্রাম নিয়ে ইংল্যান্ড সফরে যাবে হাই পারফরম্যান্স দল। প্রধান নির্বাচক মনে করেন, এরপরই বোঝা যাবে ঠিক খেলোয়াড়দের উন্নতি কি পর্যায়ে আছে।

An A team tour against strong Australian A team would be more valuable than playing some matches against low key teams. It's okay to have a Hp camp at home but why can't they make an A team for an away tour.

Yeh about the rain....... Best we can do is for the curators to prepare the same exact pitches that we served in the England series where games ended in 3 days. No way we're going to get 5 days of uninterrupted cricket with the upcoming rainy season, so might as well make it a minefield to get a short match with a result.

Besides England > Australia when it comes to playing spin. Let Miraz, Fizz, Shakib wreak havoc.
