Taskin Ahmed and Farhad Reza added to ireland tri-series squad.
The squad has 19 players now.
Squad: Masrafe Mortaza (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das, Soumya Sarker, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmud Ullah, Shakib Al Hasan (Vice Captain), Mohammad Mithun, Shabbir Rahaman, Mosaddek Hossain, Shaifuddin, Mehidy Hasan, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Abu Jayed, Nayeem Hasan, Yasir Ali, Taskin Ahmed, Farhad Reza
Taskin, 25, has been recovering from an ankle injury, sustained during a Bangladesh Premier League game. The paceman was advised three-week rest, alongside a rehabilitation programme. He has since made a comeback and has also participated in the recently-concluded Dhaka Premier League.
Meanwhile, Reza, who last made an international appearance for Bangladesh in 2014, and hasn't played an ODI since December 2011, was the highest wicket-taker in the Dhaka Premier League, Bangladesh's premier List A tournament, where he picked up 38 wickets from 16 games.

How much has Reza evolved as a player? He generally tends to do good in domestic cricket no?

Farhad Reza deserved a callup with the way he was playing. Good decision to include him. And Taskin as well given that there are injury concerns with both Rubel and Fizz. We need all the backups ready as we need as its going to be a long tournament and our players seem fragile these days.

A 5' 7" guy bowling medium pace on a placid wicket to Russell/Gayle/Warner/Butler/Bairstow/Root/Williamson/Guptil/Monro/Taylor/Plessis/Amla/Miller/ROHIT/KOHLI/Babar/Harris etc. Best of luck Forhad Reza.

I'm not against picking domestic performers..what I am against is the inconsistency in the policy of the selectors...Tushar and Naeem have been making runs for years they cant get a single test and are shunned.. Reza has one good DPL and suddenly he's in contention for the World Cup squad..

Well the selectors didnt pick him. Our selectors are too damm stubborn to pick veteran players. Its the coach who specifically asked for Reza. Reza didnt only have a good DPL, he had a solid NCL, BCL, BPL, DPL T20 and now DPL. I think he is called up for Saifuddin's injury concerns. I think Rhodes wants someone who can score a few runs and Reza had some good cameos recently.

Abahani forced Saifuddin and Rubel to play with injuries. Now Bangladesh team may suffer because their BCB directors can't put the interest of the nation ahead of the club.

As for Reza, I am glad that he is picked ahead of Shafiul. Seems Rhodes understands the difference between net performance and match performance.

Shehzad is in Pakistan squad? You mean Mohammad Shahzad of Afghanistan?

Reza is actually taken in by Rhodes, he needed someone as sub for Saifuddin and ATM Feza is the only domestic player with some resume to select.

Let them be added for this tour, as long as they are subtracted from the WC team.

we need strong bench reserve, i think thats why they want to keep some players ready. its a long tournament and we might see several injuries. so not a bad idea to have strong back up
reza was never consistent. i dont know why he was selected in national team in first place. He never showed much promise when he began his career. But when he starts showing promises and consistency--some fans are bad mouthing about him. Dont forget, the same tournament he played--all other players including national players played there too and he performed superbly with both bowling (highest wkt taker by far) and hard hitting batting too. i am glad that he got selected. Don't know, if he will play in the main XI or not, most probably not but he definitely deserved it. Its a reward for hard work
tushar, naeem should be in test. they been performing for so many years consistently. naeem's nation team performance was good too before he got dropped because khaled mahmud doesnt like him.
india has many talents--still they bring back kedhar jadhav (34), dinsesh Karthik(33) (over rishabh pant)
pakistan--abid ali(new comer at 31), haris sohel (30), hafeez (38), shoib malik (37)--they are all on and off in the national team
australia--shaun marsh (35), most aussie players are in their 30s
saf-- faf du (34), amla (36), duminy (35), imran tahir (40), pretorius (30), steyn (35), van der dussen (30 )
srilanka--nuwan pradeep (32), lakmal (32), malinga (35), matthews (31), jeevan mendis (36), tishara perera (30), siriwardhana (33), isuru udana (31)
afghan bring back--hamid hasan (31), dawlat zadran (31)--after many years--because experience is necessary for big tournament, shinwari(31), nabi (34), noor ali zadran (30), ,asgar afghan (31)
age should not be the only factor for not getting selection in national team. Even if they can serve for a year or 2--people in best form should be selected.

If you no more like the players we have, perhaps you should support some other team.
