Let\'s guess: who is our nucleas of 6 players that Whatmore thinks?
I think the following 6 players are in Whatmore's mind to be the nucleas of Bangladesh team:
1) Hannan Sarkar
2) Habibul Bashar
3) Rajin Saleh
4) Alok Kapali
5) Mushfiqur Rahman - according to Jugantor report
6) ? - Is this Khaled Mahmud or Tapash Baisya or Mohammad Rafique or Mashrafee Murtoza?

Looks like we are giving our opinions on the best players.
Is that what a "nucleus" is ?

They are called nucleus because the team's overall performance will revolve arround them one way or the other.

Good teams therefore have all their 11 players in the nucleus.
Looks like we are choosing the nucleus based upon the performers since Dave's coming.
Which means, are we choosing the consistant players only ?
If so, can we (as fans) decide the nucleus on the basis of just 2 series.
For BDs sake, I hope so.

The player that are autometic choice should be the nucleas. This is not based on performence of 2 serise.
For example, I put Kapali as a nucleas player even though he pretty much sucked in last 2 test serise.
However, he is still an automatic choice, thus nucleas.

Rana bhai:I disagree on Kapali. I think he is at his current form a reliable ODI batsman. Psychologically, I cannot think of anyone else to rely on when the top order collapses. Yes his test position is shaky but the day he got the hattrick was also a significant contribution, along with Rafiq, to turn the tide to our advantage. He ranks together with Sumon,Rafiq and Masri as my no mess around core. I am giving Rajin the Eng series to get into the permanent club.
Overall, I think Chinaman is spot on with the list. A bit sad that we can narrow down to just 5 or 6 players. We need more just the way the Pakistan side keeps churning up these pacers constantly.
