It helps me put things in to perspective. The truth is that in the grand scheme of things, the earth and its residents are absolutely insignificant. If tomorrow the earth were to be destroyed by a meteor (quite likely), nothing will change in this universe.

As if you went to the beach and took a grain of sand and no one will know or miss it.
