I thought you looked like this!

Anyways, I just wanted to thank you for your contribution at the BC. To me you were the face of BC for a long time! Good luck with your future ventures.

So, you wake up at 5:23 AM your time and post this.

Sorry, but I have to think about this.

Possible reason:

Bored. - Nope. Out of question. Change in life and lifestyle - Less time for BC - possible, but not likely for a dedicated cricket fan.

I think it's the following two reasons:

1. The countless sleepless nights you've spent in walking alongside the baby that was Bangladesh cricket - that baby is walking, talking now. There is less of a concern for direct involvement to give the fans a voice. Much of it is on auto pilot now. Cricket in Bangladesh is progressing. The 2-tier idea is dead. You feel relatively safe in leaving the shouting to the amateurs.

2. The passing of the baton. BC is a Miraz site now. Threads, colums, news, interviews, "bulletins", "research", Polls (or so they are called), opinions (however they are manufactured) - pretty much the whole site is a one-man content show at the moment. Enough to keep the amateurs busy. You must have used this Argument with Tehsin to step down. (Come to think of it, Miraz could even be a Sylheti himself )

I've said this before, I will say it again now:

You, single-handedly guarded this place. It is my observation and belief. You set a tone and kept this place civil. I think others will agree, regardless of it's cricket origin, this is just about the most awesome place for Bangladeshis to gather. BC is absolutely unique in it's manifestation as the only "web Civic society" for Bangladeshis. A great example of directing a positive mindframe towards wonderful, enlightning conversations. BC, under your guidence, has set the standard so high that nothing else compare. Side-by-side to the psuodo-political forums of drishtipat or others, here we saw a true picture of the great Bangladeshi mindframe emerged in the diffrent BC forums.

I will just give you one argument, in coaxing you to stay as the CM. Take a survey of the wives and children of many of the members that you mentioned in your post. Ask them what we do for entertainment and relaxation on the web. I guarantee you they all have one common answer:

banglacricket

NOT cricket. banglacricket.

I expressly than YOU for making it happen.

Don't go away.

Shouldn't this thread be in the 'Forget Cricket' section?

As long as we get to see you post from time to time, Chinaman. Don't let your retirement become a complete farewell.

BanglaCricket will definitely lose a prime piece of the puzzle if chinaman really steps out. Surprising bit of development at the least.

...we hereby regretfully refuse to accept chainaman bhai's early retirement plan. Though, instead, we proudly offer him a dream vacation package to visit Winnipeg, the winter capital of the world, for the experience of a life time( including food and accomodation for two weeks!)

chinaman in Winnipeg?!!

Except that Winnipeg isn't ever green, and the use of such seats is mainly for beaches

You can take a BanglaCricket out of Chinaman but you cant take a Chinaman out of Banglacricket.. Cliche as it may sound.. I think the Admins should give you a 'sabatical' /extended vacation to ride your harley davidson ( at night) and later come back and 'do your thing'... Dont leave yet!! BanglaCricket is soon to launch its IPO and to be bought out by Google, sorry Microsoft!!
On the G flat note I would say,,All I would say as Moulana Iron Maiden said: Somewhere in time...

Chinaman bhai , BC needs someone like you.

Someone who knows what they're doing…
Someone who has high standards…
Someone who is always on top of things…
And most of all, someone who won't take any BS.

Chinaman bhai, we've been lucky to have you, and hope you visit us frequently and still guardian us when needed. Thank you for your great contribution. Wish you all the best.

And, I’m so honored to see you’ve mentioned such an irregular member like me on your list!

mamu if you don't want to work, thats alright, but you can still do some addabaji. after 8000 posts, there is one thing that can be assured that you are banglacricket fan.

do stay with us, there are others who can take the admin, mod duty.

wish you all the best, and change your nick if possible. chinaman shouldn't be a name of a banglacricket fan.
