i am waiting for the thread by some member in next 2 years, when they will start crying to drop razzaq or mashrafe because they will consider as old.what is the age limit to be selected in Bd team?
i am discussing about test matches only in this forum:
some guys are mentioned abt akram khan and some one's dad. Is ur dad or akram are the same age group with pilot or bashar or javed omar?
most cricketers get matured in cricket sense after 27 and some consider 30-35 is the pick time of their career. at 32, khaled masud is considered old.
as a wicket keeper, he is no 1 in asia , where does mushfiq and sahagir stands?
as a batsman, last NCL, he was number 5th ranking batsman.
our cricket scene in daily basis for last few years:
our test team gets all out between 76-110 and its happening every time, any good innings by our batsman is considered fluke due to their inconsistency and match ends before lunch break, team like australia refuses to play test match against us in their own venue. india never invites us for any series. NZ makes us whitewash in regular basis, we cant face srilanka for more than 2 days, when before any series most commentator talks about , will it be end in 2 days? pakistan says present c grade zimbabwe team has better batting technique and better team than bangladesh. at that time, we discuss about our future cricketer. what future? when that future will come? in 20 years, in 30 years or it will never come.
in test match, our best performance is still considered first match against India, fatullah match, multan match and St lucia match. i believe in most of those matches khaled masud, rafiq, bashar and javed had great contributions.
lastly, i wanna quote from bashar, "think about future but dont ignore present".
i am against a team which is full of all senior or all junior.I think the best combo would be a mix up of senior and junior, specially in test matches, when the match duration is 5 days.let the junior learn from senior.
i think very soon we will change the definition of test matches. for our test matches, ICC will make it 3 days instead of 5 days and still we will be defeated by innings/ 10 wkt. then Our coach will say, its an in inexperienced team with full of youth and give us another 100 years. again, after 10 years we will hear the same thing and after another 10 years we will hear the same song over and over.
hopefully there is some solution. when patriotism will get more priority than personal revenge. Now rafiq, bashar, pilot are complaining about present selector and in next 10 years who else will be included in that lengthy list?
khaled masud had enough experience
his wicketkeeping ability--- he doesnt have to prove to any one
his batting form: he was ranked 5th in last NCL
what else u need to be selected in the team or get chance for one match to say bye for the last time to the audiences

We just need batsmen who don't play stupid attacking shots all the time. Experienced / old doesn't matter. The fact is Bashar played stupid shots in NZ when he was required to play more responsible innings, which is probably why Siddons hates him.
I saw the first odi against aussies in the last series. Even Shakib was playing stupid shots. He was going after Michael Clarke's every ball and got out soon after hitting a risky 4. That is just stupid. So if our batsmen stop doing these kind of things we'll be fine, with or without old players.

Old is Gold. So bring it on.
When its failing from all ends it doesn't hurt to try something different.
I say dump all the young players and bring all the oldies from history book.
And if it fails. then dump the 0ld again and bring all brand new from u-15.

.....
I have a box of dampened cigarettes and I have some cigarette wrappers and fresh toasted tobacco which I can make the way I like.
I think I would much rather stick with the fresh toasted tobacco and smoke it for as long as it lasts rather than painfully taking in the super hazardous cigarette.
Aging cigars can be good.....but all we have are either old cigarettes or biris. Sorry guys, we just do not have the sort of "experienced" players most are asking for. What is, is. What was, was. What will be, will be! Que Sera, Sera!
Do I make much sense? I think I do!
*NOTE*: Find me another Mohammad Rafique and any day I am up for his experiance in our team. We lack classy old players like him! All respects to the rest like Bashar and Pilot but they are past their prime in the International Scenario (however I do agree that most probably Pilot's glove work would still be valuable to our team !

(Wow, what a response to my thread!)
Our team is currently all youth with new youth coming into the team every year
With some of the team banned for going to the ICL
We are probably gonna be back to square one with new, unexperienced youth players again
Where are some mature and experienced players?
I live in Australia and I honestly believe Victoria will beat Bangladesh quite comfortably if Bangladesh keep playing like they are currently

Nuh, we dont need the old hacks back, we had long periods of losses under those players as well.
We need to keep faith in the young brigade and hope that Sakib, Mash, Tamim, Ash, Shahadat, Rakibul, Mushi... can pull us out of this rot.

What does old experiance mean? Khaled mahmud, Akram Khan, Aminul Islam Bulbul and co.? Grammatical error I reckon.
