Needs to keep the ball on the ground. Just once I would like to see him score a fifty followed by a thirty

Very interesting. So we can be sure that he won't reach 25 again in this series

Interestingly, under Whatmore at least, Ashraful has scored a half-century against every country he played against.

Another interesting thing is his extremely low frequency of being bowled or lbw'ed.

thr graph seems to show that after ash has scored a half century or more he has failed the next two or three times. the sequence would indicate he should be dropped for the next test against india and the first against zimbabwe.

But the problem is we dont know when he will break the sequence, so we have to stick with him, anyway him and bashar are the only decent batsmen we have. Why was ahmed dropped today, he has shown promise like iqbal?

See this trend :

v Aus : 23, 7, 0, 0

v Pak : 77, 7, 12, 3

v Zim : 98, 0, 1

v WI : 81, 1, 16, 9

v NZ : 57, 26, 0, 0

Everytime the highest score came in the first innings of a series.
After that the opponents either worked him out or he grew careless.

In the five first inns, he made 336 at an average of 67.20
In the other 14 innings, 82 runs at 5.86

I hope he changes this series. We will have to wait and see what happens in the second innings.

down leg, Hannan [sic] flicks at it at hip height, Gilchrist collects,

finger

Mohammad Ashraful c Gilchrist b Gillespie 0 (5b 0x4 0x6)

given, a pair for Ashraful

If we go by the graph and knowing Pilot's character, it will be Pilot. If Ash plays by his rule book, he will either fall short of 1000 or get it right after Pilot.

I will go with Ash. He is more concentrated than he used to be and I am pretty sure he will fix his weak points.

Ash probed again himself that he is Ashraful. After doing 60 then he came down to bottom again.

Painfully, the trend continues... I hope Ashraful gets at least another decent innings in this series.

Nice work Arnab and Tintin.

I think Ashraful is a changed players this series. He is more focused. Laxman and Ash should have gotten benefit of doubt on their lbw calls.

Well done ! Good revealing stats particularly his liking to post the highest score for the series at the first instance.

Hopefully, Chittagong will prove the stats wrong !
