Are you buying from Amazon.ca?
There is a shipping charge involved (unless it states free shipping), depending on the service you choose (express, or others). They deliver it to your home. Someone just needs to sign off. If you are not home, the post man will leave it at one of the post offices. For me, they usually end up at a Canada Post office in a Shoppers Drug Mart. They'll leave you a note and phone call I believe. Plus you can track online.
You will have to make an account on amazon to buy from there. Its free obviously. As for purchasing, I just used my credit card. If you can use Paypal, thats ok too I believe. Amazon is a trustworthy vendor, from what I hear at least.

they have this new program you can join for free, its 3 month trial period, and you get free shipping for 3 months, and after than you can just cancel it. i bought most of my books from amazon, all free shipping, and you get it very quickly too. if you sign up for amazon visa and then use it you get 30 dollar discount. it might be a little different for Canada. amazon is very trustworthy i been buying books from there for the last 3 years, always fast shipping. and if you ask any question the seller always gets back to you very quickly

Shipping really does depend on the book.
I ordered one of my textbooks from them and got it in 2 days (1 day ahead of schedule).
