thats pretty true especially if KKR somehow gives mash less than 600K this year. i am sure their dhaka viewership alone will boost TV ratings to the point where they could easily make up 600K, and then if somehow they cheat mash and say "you played x number of games, so x/total *(600K) is what you get..." then it makes perfect business sense.

spend a few pennies and make a couple bucks.

ash really never deserved a contract, not with his int'l record. add to that team has jaya and tendu both in prime form. bolod ekta duita jeenish shikle jotoshto boro jeenish.

mash however should play ahead of hodge.

TV viewership will have commercial value only when BD based companies are willing to sign contract with KKR or pay for advert slots to the TV channel, something that hasn't happened till date.

till this happens, viewership in BD or anywhere else for that matter, except ind, doesn't add a penny to KKR/IPL earnings.

but what about all the satellite viewers who are viewing it on the original indian channel? surely they are keeping track of ratings from outside india if they're not fools???

no BD channel is gonna broadcast the IPL and if they did, they'd have to pay the IPL.

the technology isnt there in bangladesh....
they can only estimate the rating...and if the advertisement is not of a product that is exported to bangladesh than this rating also counts for little.

set max is officially present in BD, so viewership will count, whichever way it is computed/estimated.

but franchises can earn money either by
a) direct endorsement, like KKR have with star TV
b) through IPL by TV rights, but this is also shared by all teams
the amounts for the TV rights are fixed for the next 10 years so only way KKR can earn more from more viewership is by option (a)
