BBC names Shakib as one of the players to watch out for ...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/8071632.stm
While there's a sense of smugness in the "world's #1 all rounder" comment - his performance against Australia today again confirmed that this guy has IT!

'The 22-year-old will need to be at the top of his game if Bangladesh are to have any hopes of advancing beyond the group stages.'
Unless they mean super-8s, theyre retarded.
We only have to beat Ireland, a team that couldnt beat Holland conventionally.

a team we don't need to look down upon, they know their only realistic chance of making in to the 2nd round is the match against us..so we need be very serious about this match..

I just hope that BD realizes this and fight to the finish, Ireland is not a team to be taken lightly.
It will be shameful if BD loses this match.

Team: Bangladesh
Meet the world's best all-rounder. No, really. Shakib is, according to the International Cricket Council's one-day ratings, better than Andrew Flintoff, Yuvraj Singh, Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi.
The left-arm spinner has two one-day hundreds to his name, not to mention an impressive Test bowling best of 7-36 against New Zealand.
Shakib was instrumental in Bangladesh's only win in the 2007 tournament, collecting 4-34 against West Indies.
The 22-year-old will need to be at the top of his game if Bangladesh are to have any hopes of advancing beyond the group stages.

We have to make best 8 first, then will have three more game or more, and then the world will see how much of worth he is. He is a smart kid and I wish he will be able to keep his consistency. Big stage for him to seal his name in the world.

Sakib, in my opinion, is the Dark Horse of this tournament.
He has what it takes and he IS the best allrounder in the world atm.

Shakib is definately a player to look out for, he just gets better and better each match. If he can't do anything good with the ball, he does it with the bat and vice versa!! I love this guy

During the 2000s, BBC declared AB de Villers and Ashraful as the most instrumental batsmen of the nest decade. Not surprising that AB has achieved what he promised, and Ash is only groping at the dark.

Thing is, Ash is still only 24, that is still very young
And I reckon bangladesh are approaching where they should of been when given test status

If Ash ever matures in to a batsman of some semblence of sound mind, then He'll go down in the history as one of the finest player of his era.But I aint gonna hold my breath.
True, the recently found backbone should have been there when we first faced India in our inaugural test. That's all water under the bridge. Important thing is we must keep moving forward. The fact that a mass exudis barely dented our armour and actually enhanced our performace hints at a depth of talent in the pipeline. We just have to nurture them.
